I’ve never done this (a review ) but I feel Like I think others should know .my husband had this doctor months ago this was my first time with Mauricio R Chavez . I’ve never had a doctor so cold so inviting if I had not noticed the pamphlets on the wall I would not know anything about my visit not once did he tell me anything about what I came in for in he was in and out of my room in 13 mins . Every time I said something he cut me off and said well it’s common for your age to get this . Came home told my husband he said oh my gosh I had him before and yes he’s so cold he almost made me feel like he was in a different league them me . I could go on and on I came home with so many questions so I got on google to get them answered. This Gentleman might want to change his career because his manners were horrible I’m a retired woman and this is one experience I’ll never forget, Just a quick note the ladies at the front desk were amazing so kind . As always Sorry to have to leave a bad review but this man was horrible. I have to come back I’ll make sure I’m not seeing this doctor. Thank you a very hurt customer

I have been going to this clinic for years. They are very professional and do an outstanding job… from the receptionist to the Doctors. When I had to get glasses the technician was very careful to make sure everything was marked correctly when ordering the lenses. I was able to use my frames from previous glasses …with no problems. One pair is transition and the other is regular. The female Doctor is very thorough and explains things in detail so, that I don’t have to ask lots of questions. I highly rate this clinic!

I have never written a review before so please have patience with me. I went to see William Van D Car MD at Vancouver Eye Care on Aug 4, 2025 to have him check my glacoma and test my eyes for new glasses. He did those things but nobody ever called me with the results. Not the Doctor or anyone in his office. I called to get the results and the person I talked with read what he had written to me. I didn't understand what he meant so I asked that he called to explain. He never did. I went back in on Aug 18, 2025 for an irritation in my eyes. He wrote a whole bunch of things I had to put in my eyes including 1 prescription. I did all that and my eyes burned something terrible so I called and left a message that my eyes were burning and i couldn't put that stuff in my eyes anymore and asked to have someone call me. I thought maybe they would have a different prescription that wouldn't burn. No one ever called me back about that. Not the Doctor nor his assistant nor anyone in his office. I quit taking all the stuff he prescribed cause I didn't know what to do. 2 weeks later someone called and asked how i was doing and i told her in no uncertain terms, unforturnately. Then on 8/25/25 I got a bill in the mail that said I owed $45.00 for 8/18/25 visit. When I called and said I had paid it when i was in there and had a receipt for it, they came up with another visit on 8/7/25. I have paid my 2 copays of $45 each and for my glasses exam of $49. and they still say i owe them $45. I would advise everyone to stay away from this place. They are disorganized, blame everything on the computer, don't care about their patients enough to even give them a call when something goes wrong.

I couldn’t be happier with Dr Shay and all of the staff at Vancouver Eye Care . I had cataract surgery on my left eye 2 weeks ago and had the right eye done yesterday . Both Dr and all of the staff were warm , welcoming and knowledgeable . Thank You for giving me clear sight again . Colors are more vivid , everything is like seeing for the first time again .

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From 1 Star to 5 — Because of One Person: Sarah As a business owner, I know problems happen. What matters most is how a company responds when they do. That’s why I’m updating my original 1-star review to a full 5 stars — because Sarah, the manager at Vancouver Eye Care Mill Plain, went above and beyond to make things right. My original issue was with a pair of rimless luxury frames I brought in — I paid over $400 for new lenses and chose the strongest options offered. But when they came back, the prescription was too strong for close-up vision, and the lens style didn’t work well with progressives (something I didn’t understand at the time). It was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I felt stuck with glasses I couldn’t even wear. But then Sarah stepped in. Not only did she fix the situation with professionalism and compassion — she went way beyond what I expected. She took the time to explain what happened, helped me understand my options, and even personally cleaned and adjusted a pair of Gucci glasses I didn’t even buy from them — ones I had gotten at Costco. That’s rare. She took ownership, cared enough to help, and completely changed my opinion of the business. In the end, what could have been a total loss turned into a great experience — because someone decided to care and act. If you’re reading this and unsure, just know: Sarah is the kind of manager every company needs. She restored my trust in this place, and that’s worth celebrating.
