On December 29, 2025, I had my first appointment (VA referral) at the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute (PCLI) in Tacoma, Washington. The check-in process was straightforward, and the appointment began on time. Brooke, an optometry assistant, conducted an exceptionally thorough initial eye examination to help confirm the VA referral and assess how PCLI could best address my eye care needs. The results of this examination were subsequently reviewed by Dr. J. Bachman, an ophthalmologist and one of several highly qualified physicians on staff. At no point did I feel rushed. To the contrary, I felt as though I was the most important person in the clinic. My questions were answered clearly and thoughtfully, and I was given valuable, unbiased recommendations focused solely on improving my eye health. In my view, Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Tacoma is a well-managed facility that consistently places the patient’s best interests first. There was no attempt to upsell any specific optical product, technology, or procedure. The clear objective throughout my visit was to improve my visual acuity where possible—nothing more, nothing less. Based on this initial visit, I would highly recommend Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute in Tacoma to anyone seeking top-tier ophthalmology care in a calm, professional, and patient-centered environment.
