My surgery and anesthesia experience at this facility was fantastic, but Julie in the billing department made this whole ordeal an incredibly stressful and exorbitantly expensive experience. She waited so long to start the prior authorization process that my insurance had not approved or denied it prior to surgery, so we had to scramble to pay over $13,000 out of pocket on the morning of my surgery, and I am seriously concerned that we won't get that money back. She started the PA one week prior to surgery despite my calling multiple times and asking her to start it sooner. She dodged my calls numerous times, and I was unable to reach her via voicemail or email. At one point, I called and asked to speak with her and was told, like always, that she was busy and couldn't come to the phone. Yet she was able to tell the receptionist to relay to me that the PA had been started, and I had nothing to worry about. I checked with my insurance company days (maybe weeks?) later, and it still had not been started. When I was finally able to reach Julie on the phone after repeated calls, she reassured me numerous times that I shouldn't worry and the insurance company would reach a determination about the PA prior to surgery, and it would likely get approved for 9 out of 10 procedures just like it did the last time I had this surgery in August of 2025. That did not happen. She also gave me an extremely backhanded compliment and said I was "a really good advocate" for myself, indicating that I was bothering her. To make matters worse, insurance ended up denying the PA right after surgery for all of the procedures. Julie admitted that she spoke to another biller who said maybe she shouldn't have submitted all of the CPT codes together since nine out of the ten procedures were already covered under my insurance benefits. I wonder if this could have been avoided if she only submitted a PA for the one procedure that required prior authorization. It has now been two months since surgery, and I am still waiting to hear back from their corporate billing department about whether or not my insurance covered the procedures when they were billed. My husband and I are now $13,000 poorer and left feeling incredibly frustrated by our experience with Julie in Billing. I also filled out their patient satisfaction survey with this info a while ago and never heard from anyone, so I assume they just don't care.
The nursing staff was friendly and comforting for the stress one feels getting prepped for surgery. The doctors inspired confidence that they were highly experienced and on their game. As much as getting a knee replacement is no small matter, it was as reassuring as it could be.
Dr Olson is amazing! He takes great care in working with his patients and addressing their needs/concerns. I always know I am safe and in good hands with Dr Olson. Nursing and MA staff is also awesome! They really take care of you.
Unsure of this place. I feel like what was casted is excessive for what is broken. For a very small fracture of a small bone in a little finger, they put a cast on my whole hand and up my arm to the elbow. I can't do anything. Can't bathe, can't floss properly. Have trouble turning the wheel driving. I almost don't care about the smallest broken bone in the body for all this trouble.
Do NOT go to Dr. Olsen. He is not as good a doctor as the previous colorectal surgeon, Dr. Harmon. I had rectal botox injections with him and he said he would only do it under anesthesia. Afterwards I had complications (I’m 90% sure he injected the wrong muscles because I was incontinent for at least a month) he totally disregarded my concerns. I called for weeks asking to speak with the office manager and no one will call me back. The surgery center charged me a crazy amount of money they said was the amount my insurance didn’t cover. However, they then sent me another facility charge and more doctor charges (that’s lists the services 2xs). On the bills they sent the amount I paid in person wasn’t even accounted for. I have the receipt. I’ve called the billing department several times and they also won’t call me back. I mentioned all of this to the front desk when I asked to speak to the office manager and they’ve assured me someone will call me back each time. Still no call. DO NOT GO HERE!
