My family, immediate and extended, has been coming here for years. Easy to book appointments online, staff is always friendly.
Dr. Kitamura has been my eye doctor for many years, and I trust her completely. Sheās kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and always takes the time to explain everything clearly. The staff is friendly and professional, and because of my great experiences here, Iāve referred several family members and friends over the years! I highly recommend this clinic for their exceptional care.
NW Vision Institute has been one of the WORST health care providers I've seen in years. Iāve had my eyes examined there several times by Dr. Wickenberg and each time she fundamentally changes my prescription (removing the prism in my lenses that makes it possible for me to read and do my job) without any testing or consultation with me. She just randomly decided I didnāt need an essential part of my correction anymore. During each visit, Iām also given prescriptions for medications that are supposed to treat things I have no symptoms of. Most recently, the mail-order prescription didnāt arrive for several weeks, and I had to follow up with their office to prompt someone to respond to the requests from the pharmacy for information. During my last visit, Dr. Wickenberg said she would give me a referral for someone to consult regarding some surgery that she deemed ānecessaryā several years ago. It's been over a month, and I still have no referral. I couldnāt even follow up on my own because I have no chart notes or other information about what procedure thinks I should have done. Finally, the optical department canāt seem to make a pair of lenses right. They tried to update the lenses in two different frames on two different occasions and got it wrong both times. When you spend $900 on a pair of lenses, youād think youād take the care to get it right.
āOne trillion-hundred-billion out of fiveā is the rating from the five-year-old patient Iām writing this review on behalf of. Every step along the way we were welcomed with the utmost kindness and professionalism. I wish I had grabbed the name of the lovely human who opened the door for us at 7am and helped process our co-pay. She has the coolest pink keyboard. Suki, the ophthalmic nurse, is phenomenal with children and made the whole process easy and enjoyable- not the simplest task with littles. Dr. Kitamura is an angel on earth. She was incredibly warm and our child said she is āthe best grownup everā. He absolutely adores her and canāt wait to drop off some dinosaur drawings for her. He must have felt like the only patient in the world with the amount of time and interest she generously devoted this morning. Upon our exit we had yet another delightful interaction with the front desk receptionist. Iām not a shill š This is a genuine review from a very impressed mother. When selecting care providers we do our research and then hope for the best. On this particular day with these particular staff members we had the dream appointment. As this was our sonās first eye exam Iām confident he canāt wait until next year.
They made me wait almost 2hrs for someone to check on me. If I wasnāt coming because of an emergency I wouldāve left. I understand that appointments get delayed and things happen but people come here to get medical attention, they arrange their schedules to take care of themselves. They definitely do not care about their clients time nor take it serious. If you already know youāre running 1hr+ late on appointments then call your clients to let them know. This is not okay, and reading through other reviews this happens way too often, clearly they still donāt care and wonāt do anything about it. NEVER coming back again and definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE. Also, if youāre going to hide your clients for hours in an examination room then make it look less than an interrogation room. No windows, closed door, made me feel claustrophobic tbh. Only good thing was Dr. Figg. So professional, gentle and great doctor.
