This place is awful. My son had surgery at the hospital a few months ago . At the hospital when we went to recovery they said to let him wake up on his own. He did. And they gave him popsicles and then had him drink something. They waited to be sure he held it down. The nurses and staff talked to him about pokemon and such. Everyone there sang him happy birthday. He was there a while. I'd say an hour. When he left he was fully awake and clear headed. Now a few months later they send him for another surgery at this building behind Sheetz. The lady with him before surgery that gave us the gown and such was nice. The anesthesiologist David was amazing with him. But the nurse in recovery was awful. There was no recovery. She left marks on him digging her thumb up under his jaw to force him awake. He was crying and still never opened his eyes when she shoved a popsicle in his hand insisting he eat it. She put him in a wheel chair and out the door with his eyes still mostly shut and him crying and emotional and clearly still drugged. His "recovery" was all of 10 minutes. If any of my children ever need surgery again I will insist it is NOT here!
I had double knee replacement at this surgery center- the center was clean and nurses, MD, anesthesia and PT amazing! However, I was owed a refund and have made no less than a dozen calls starting Oct ‘24 and told the office manager would follow up. Never a return call or email. Surgery was July 2024 and as of March 2025 still no refund for overpayment. I was finally able to speak with office manager Emery today who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I inquired why he hasn’t returned any of the dozen of messages left to which he replied ‘I don’t know’. I don’t know? Really? This is the response to months of phone calls and promises he would call me and follow up? He states refunds won’t be issued until insurance clears which is about 30 days. Well, the math on that would be August ‘24. I asked when did insurance clear and he said he’d have to call billing. I was happy to wait while he checked- he said that wasn’t practical and he wasn’t gonna do it. He states he will process refund today and I should get it in 30 days. I have been told this every time I have called since October. Also- that means he has never processed it despite surgery July 2024? He then said he’d wasn’t gonna be ‘threatened by me’. What? When did I threaten anyone? He had no response. I did state facts: he is rude and unprofessional and not doing his job- never seems to be in the office and doesn’t even have his VM set up… I feel like if I owed Valley Health money they would he less forgiving than I have been waiting 8 months for my refund for overpayment. Ironically I was a Nurse for Valley Health for many years and chose to come back because I really like the surgeon- Dr Wise is amazing. However because of the office manager Emery as the leader of this center- I will not use or recommend this surgery center again.
Nurse Todd was absolutely amazing and kept me laughing nearly the entire time I was there for knee surgery. He was also super informative and caring. Dr. Currie and Dr. Mantell were a wonderful team to have and made this process both comforting and a breeze. Overall, I am very thankful that I had surgery here.
I had shoulder replacement sugery here late September. Dr. Wise was my surgeon and Dr. Currie was my anesthesiologist during my visit, both of which were great! The staff was very professional and I received excellent care. From check in to check out, the staff here is outstanding. I can't say enough about how well I was treated. They are all very professional and are outstanding caregivers. My sincerest thanks to each one of them. They are truly serving in their calling of helping people and are outstanding at it. I highly recommend Valley Health Surgery Center.
Had ankle surgery on 7-21. The entire staff & doctors were extremely nice, helpful, & understanding being so nervous not only to me but my wife. They made my surgery much less stressful. Really like the size of this facility & not having to deal with larger hospital grounds. I highly recommend this surgery center & have nothing but good things to say. Thanks again for such great service!
