About three months back I had an outpatient surgery at Surgical Suites of Coastal Virginia in Williamsburg, VA. The total time for the surgery (rotator cuff and bicep) was about an hour. However, the charge was about $28,000 while the surgeon and anesthesiologist charged separately. Later, the charge was corrected to $14,000 since somehow, they considered the surgery as two operations one for the cuff and one for the bicep. Still, there was no explanation why for 1 hour use of the operating room the charge should be $14,000. I am outraged not only by the charge but since I was not informed as the patient in advance. I would have selected another hospital if I was informed about this unreasonable charge that my insurance company paid also without my consent.

Would give them 0 if I could, they didn’t verify their information correctly and gave me an estimate that was basically thousands less than what the procedure actually was, then hit me with a surprise bill basically double of what I thought after the fact. Had I known I would’ve gotten a cast or gone elsewhere instead of getting surgery. The performance of the medical staff was great and professional, but if you come here triple and quadruple check that they’re doing billing and insurance information correctly. Update: Very professionally recognized the mistake that was made and honored the original estimate given. Can happily leave a good review.

My daughter recently had her tonsils removed and ear tubes placed, and we had a great experience. From the front desk staff to the nurses to the doctors, everyone was so incredibly kind, professional, and comforting. The center is beautiful, clean, and well run. I highly recommend this surgical center.

I have had two surgeries at the Surgical Suites of Costal Virginia. The staff is so friendly and the facility is amazing. Hopefully, I won’t need another one, but if I do and I have a choice of where it will be here. Thank you to all of the staff for making my experiences so wonderful.
