Staff in the recovery area were dismissive and untrained or willfully ignorant of sepsis signs. I had a lithotripsy and came out of the procedure with severe chills and uncontrolled pain accompanied by fever. I told them I felt something was off and they ignored me and said I could "have the room as I long as I wanted" but it was normal and nothing to be concerned with. I went home and within 2 hours of leaving their facility, I was in the ER with severe septic shock and admitted to ICU. I will never use their facility again in addition to having long term effects of their poor care and recognition.

Dr Birk is amazing! Had surgery on the 15th for a kidney stone removal and stent placement. I had not met him before the procedure but once he was in my room, he talked to me and answered all questions. His demeanor is warm and kind. Bedside manners were so pleasant. I was so so nervous but he along with all the staff made me feel relaxed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Birk to anyone. I would also recommend Chesapeake Surgical Center. .

My husband had out patient surgery at this Center. Being a wife on the sideline,he was treated very well. All of the staff members were nice and professional. One nurse stuck out from all. Karen Hamal, she was on the ball with my husband's care. Kind, professional and had a very genuinely kind bedside manner. I hope she will be recognized for her hand in helping patients process home after surgeries. She is a keeper!!

Moved in and out like cattle. Pre-op was done in the waiting room where others could hear everything. Couldn’t go back with my husband while he waited for surgery. Post-op directions were not enough and given very quickly.

I was treated with care and respect. Later had some questions about aftercare but that's ok. I looked it online.
