I had my colonoscopy at the Inova Springfield Surgery Center today, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was smooth, professional, and reassuring. First off, although construction, parking was easy and convenient. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and the entire team—from nurses to anesthesiologist- doctor—was friendly, efficient, and made me feel completely at ease. The procedure ran on time, and the process was much quicker and more comfortable than I anticipated. Dr. Thadani and her team took great care of me, and I truly felt like I was in the best hands. Thanks to her, I’ve taken care of an important part of my health and won’t have to think about it again for another 10 years.
Unfortunately, not a fantastic experience here. The nurse failed multiple times to start an IV. She was digging in my hand to the point I had to scream out. It hurt so bad I couldn’t even hold a conversation with my surgeon or anesthesiologist (both of which were amazing so this is no reflection on them). My ENTIRE hand is bruised now. They had a more seasoned nurse come in who thankfully was able to get my IV in with a special numbing agent. While the surgery went smoothly, sadly the post op lacked. I was woken up at noon and the nurses were trying to kick me out by 12:30 while I had the spins and a very low blood pressure of 94/55. I had to argue with them that it wasn’t safe for me to leave. They still kicked me out at 1pm when I still had the spins and couldn’t stand or keep my eyes open more than 30 seconds at a time. Thankfully, my fiancé safely got me home but I wasn’t even close to be semi alert until 5pm. I feel that it was extremely unsafe of them to send me home in the condition that I was in.
I had a colonoscopy and a biopsy of my stomach last year. I told the doctor that I started having trouble breathing about a month going on two months before I was finally able to make the appt. After receiving my test results I was placed on medication. My esophagus was closing. The medications that the doctor prescribed for my stomach and esophagus was too strong and I had to go to the ER in an ambulance that's how bad I was feeling. After explaining to the ER doctor about my symptoms she called the Gastroenterologist who've prescribed the medication to explain my experience. The Gastroenterologist informed her that she was not going to change my medication. I've started seeing a different Gastroenterologist now. I feel worse after having the procedure performed on my stomach and esophagus at this facility. Even though the surgical doctor and nurses were nice except for the one nurse who was very impatient and rude, I will not be returning to this facility.
I was a driver for a patient having a procedure. The parking was easy to find. The place was clean. The staff extremely helpful, friendly and sensitive to patients privacy. They went over and beyond resolving a scheduling issue. Nurses and the process from beginning to end was clear, no surprises. Great communication. There was a small deli style place on the first floor. It was overall a Good experience.
My young daughters both had their tonsils and adenoids removed here. Everyone we came in contact with here was kind, courteous, and professional. The staff, nurses, and doctors were wonderful, and the facility itself was also very nice. It was a stressful day and they really helped make sure that everything went smoothly. We were in and out very quickly, much faster than I had anticipated!
