Decent place to have surgery. Great anesthesia and surgeons. Working there, Billy the charge nurse/manager sits at a desk at the nurses station, completely ignoring the need for any assistance, or the blatant bullying that goes on. PACU Nurses check pts in and then go to the pre op (gossip) area, not only ignoring their patients, but also their colleagues who are staying at the bedside taking care of patients. Folks can pay anywhere from zero to thousands of dollars for their procedure/ surgery they deserve an attentive nurse. Billy likes the young nurses who get preferential treatment, the fun jobs such as the pain room. Nancy RN has been there PRN for years, always volunteers to stay late and close, but gets very angry to share the patient load or accept a new patient, she is busy catching up on her charting. She Never ever stops talking and is not a good multi talker. And don’t mention Trump or any thing that she does not agree with, she will loudly bite your head off. Many of the nurses have not worked PACU or ICU or been in a code, surgery centers stand alone. The nearest hospital is 911. Sometimes things go awry. The staff behind the scenes are very good and kind and respectful The surgery staff are excellent. Toxic people abound. Mean nurses, to each other , are the worst. No respect for experience.
I had a good experience at this surgery center. Everyone there was very kind and professional and seemed to genuinely care about me. I had a Saturday morning appointment, which was nice b/c there was no other patients there. Everything happened right on time. I would schedule here again.
If you're a glutton for punishment, this is the place to go alright!! They'll treat you poorly, treat your family poorly, and make you wish you'd made the wise decision of going LITERALLY anywhere else. This place has some of the worst folks on staff I've ever encountered. Some Asian CNA or whatever he was told my mom (who was not the patient, who has severe arthritis in her back, bilateral hips which are already bone on bone, and bilateral knees which are also bone on bone) that he knew what would get her out of pain, which was to lose weight. That was incredibly unnecessary and uncalled for, and I'm not going to keep quiet about it. The more people know, the better it is in my book. I'd urge ANYONE considering going here to first seek out another location for their surgery, injections appointment, etc. This place is embarrassing, and its a shame that he treated someone who wasn't even a patient this way, which should give you an idea of how HORRIBLY he'll treat you as a patient. If you're a caregiver reading this, tell your loved one getting treatment to consider anywhere else, and if you're a patient, I'd look at all of your options. If you as a patient still go there knowing what you now know, best of luck; it won't be pretty.
This is the least professional medical staff/experience we have ever had. My wife had a procedure scheduled there for this morning. We had already been seen by the Doctor and paid for his part of the procedure. In addition, we had paid the anesthesiologist ahead of time. However, the surgery center had failed to return our 4 phone calls in the 2 days leading up to the procedure. My wife did her fasting for 24 hours as required by the 2 doctors. When we arrived at the surgery center at 6:30 in the morning they did not have us on the schedule even though the two doctors had been paid and had it on their schedules. They suggested that I drive her to Presbyterian and have the procedure later in the afternoon.
Everyone was very kind at this facility, nurses, anesthesiologists. Vince with the billing department and his supervisor were exceptionally helpful. I really appreciate the assistance so I could have my surgery performed in late April. Facility looked very clean. Thank you Everyone.
