I was directed to the CHRISTUS Surgery Center in Kerrville by my pain doctor. When I arrived and called for a wheelchair, 3 nurses brought one out immediately and very gently helped me into the chair. Checkin was quick and efficient. Pre-procedure, vitals, etc took about 30 minutes. The operating room was well staffed, pristine, and fully stocked. All went well, I was wheeled out and on my way back home in 15 minutes. Staff was kind, cheerful, and efficient.

I showed up for surgery on Friday and was told that the anesthesiologist does not accept credit card payment which I had. Only check or cash ($686.00) which I didn't have with me. Procedure papers stated that Kerrville Surgery Center would contact me about collecting payment prior to surgery, which they did not do. I live an hour away so they said I could deliver it on Monday or they would charge at least $200 more. I contacted them Monday and told them my wife had a doctors appointment in Kerrville on Tuesday and could I bring it then instead. The anesthesiologist said no, that he had already given me an extension and it had to be paid today. I am still recovering from Fridays surgery and have no one to take me today so I will have to do it on my own. No compassion nor flexibility. So I'm going to have to drive several hours round trip today just to keep this inconsiderate anesthesiologist from tacking on highly excessive fees. Buyer beware. I will not use this person again. Not user friendly!!!

During surge in Covid chairs in reception area not 6 ft apart. No mask requirement enforced. Receptionist unmasked. Back in surgery center few medical staff masked, and some that were wearing masks were wearing them improperly. Love my doctor and her skill, but did not feel my safety was a priority.

02.22.19 My husband had surgery by Dr. Shore. He was touted as an excellent doctor. We were given his cell phone #, by the nurse, should any problems occur. That evening, my husband was having a lot of pain in one eye. We called Dr. Shore, left a message; but, never received a call back and no mention of it during the appointment to remove the stitches. Now, on to the nurse. While she was reading the discharge instructions, I had a question. I began to ask her and she said "Wait until I'm finished. Your question will, probably, be answered." That was uncalled for by anyone, least of all, someone in a field where they are supposed to be compassionate and helpful. Guess what, Nurse Rachett? You failed Bedside Manor 101.

My Doctor, Dr. Shore is one of the best doctors not only in his profession, but out of all the doctors I've had for 8 different surgeries. His bed side manors, compassion, tack, and professionalism are premiere. His main office is in Austin, TX. where he did my brothers surgery, it went perfect, great nurses according to him and his whole experience there was top notch and premier accomidations. My nurses at Kerrville Surgery Center, are not only incompetent pertaining to explaining how much and where the costs are going in a professional & experienced way... The nurse after my major surgery of both top eyes for tosis, and both lowers for comedic, didn't tell me to bring my own Tylenol-3, but in excruciating pain, I asked if she could give me something to ease the pain and her answer was "Dr. Shore is in surgery, you don't need meds because your face is numb, and you have meds at home." I've never met a more cruel, non compassionate human being in my life. My face wasn't numb anymore, I was in excruciating pain, I wasn't told to bring my own meds for after the surgery, and she basically wheeled me out in a wheel chair to my friend waiting in the car, and left! She didn't ask anyone if they could find a pain killer, or give me ice or anything... Worst experience in my entire medical procedures life experiences. I highly recommended Dr. Shore as an incredible Doctor, but if you want to be treated like a stuffed animal or anything that lacks pain, be talked down, feel like a cow being cattle boated out of the treatment center before you can, have any clearficatiom on questions or any help, with no concern for how much pain you are in, also with a more then 1 1/2 drive home. Then don't you dare come here, most unprofessional medical experience of my life. Sincerely, Jaret Muraglia
