It’s great & fast for the good Doctors and all of us!
UPDATE - Bumping stars from 1 to 3 just because the nursing staff was simply FANTASTIC. I ended up driving to the clinic the day before my procedure and honestly, the receptionist looked annoyed that was trying to figure out what was going on. As soon as I walked in the person from Florida called to confirm that - drumroll - no PA was needed and asked if the nurse had contacted me I said not yet, she said she’d transfer me with no luck. The receptionist simply told me to come in at 11. No instructions nothing. Had I not had this procedure before I would’ve been clueless about fasting, meds to avoid, etc. I was so fed up by then I just left. Bottom line - scheduling department DO BETTER. Other than that, no complaints on the medical staff. ——————— Would give ZERO stars if I could. NOT to the doctors, nurses and receptionists working at the surgery center itself - THEY are fantastic. But for the love of everything - their scheduling is TERRIBLE. I type this extremely frustrated as I am currently on hold with my insurance (just hit the 30 min mark) at 1:14 PM the day BEFORE my scheduled procedure after I got a call saying the authorization is still pending and can't confirm me for my appointment until that goes through. SPOILER ALERT - I went through the same circus about 2 months ago when my husband was scheduled for a procedure only to find out our insurance does not require a PA, yet he had to wait it out 2 weeks in pain because of this insanely backwards process. I'll bet a penny that I get rescheduled for two weeks out while I because they didn't get the PA in time and I try to deal with unbearable pain. Why do they wait until LESS THAN 24 hours to notify you of this and THEN try to pass the blame to the actual provider who will be performing the procedure (checked with them and all has been approved on their end). Even more frustrating, I cannot get a hold of anyone at the clinic because SHOCKER - their schedulers are remote and out of state (I had a lovely exchange with the Florida lady who got me on her schedule today because she REFUSED to give me the number to the surgery center so that I could speak with someone in the same State as me). Guess I'll be leaving early today and going there to talk IN PERSON so I can get some answers. I read through the reviews and this exact issue has been ongoing for at least 5 years now, so I call BS on their customer service/quality improvement efforts.
This is my personal experience. To all patients, make sure you know every detail of your health history, If you dont know it, write it down. I have never been to a small surgical center so I was a bit nervous with my health issues. The front desk attendant Malissa, my pre op nurse Alysa, who was extremely nice and my Nurse Anesthesis Janet, who made the best decision for me related to the type of anesthesia I should receive, this was a huge concern of mine. During the procedure she was very attentive and comforting because she knew how nervous I was. Also Dr Herra, who also made me feel comfortable. This is my personal experience. One small issue was related to post op paperwork wich was resolved. To everyone I named, thank you.
This is the most horrific place to get scheduled for a procedure. This is our second experience. They outsource the scheduling. First it got scheduled on a day I said we couldn't do then after rescheduling they don't tell you the time until the last minute. Today we aren't informed the time of the procedure on the day of. In trying to find out the time it is randomly rescheduled for the next week without talking to us or clearing it with with us. This is the only center the doctor uses so we are stuck using it for now. Although the medical staff is great I don't recommended it.
One of the ladies at the front desk on 4/24/23, Miss Areal (Ari) went above and beyond today. She is amazing! BUT, one of the employees put her personal feelings into my operation. Talking about how she had just had surgery a month ago and still wasn't able to do things. My Dr was very comfortable doing my procedure, BUT, since she wasn't "comfortable" with the situation, he decided not to do the procedure. Now, I have to get "permission" (like a kindergartener) to proceed. Now I have to wait 2 weeks to reschedule. I'm not happy AT ALL. If I had just not said anything about my situation, they would have never known and I'd have my procedure done already.
