My experience here was amazing! I've never encountered such a personable, comforting, and professional team of health workers. It was my first surgery as well as my first time ever going under, and I couldn't have felt more informed and comfortable thanks to the team taking care of me. On top of it all, I was also told that (due to unfortunate weather complications) my surgery had to be rescheduled another month in advance. They instead fit me in on a day they were closed later that week and came in to carry out the procedure anyway. Overall, I was very impressed with my experience at this location. My one and only complaint was with the receptionist. I am only 19 and don't have the most experience with filling out paperwork, and she didn't fail to make me feel a little stupid about it.
I am not sure I can suggest any improvements for this facility. The staff was amazing; professional, caring and organized. I was told exactly what would happen and what to expect. The facility is in great shape and was well planned and laid out. As for the people who are griping about wait times- do you really want your doc to be in a hurry when they are working on the person before you...or on you? Don't you want the staff to take the time to properly sanitize everything before your surgery? Do you think that every surgery takes a specific amount of time and never runs over? I suggest you be patient...and let them do their jobs right.
Appointment was for sinus surgery @ Baylor Scott & White Surgicare at Fort Worth TX. Appointment time was 1:30. I arrived at 11:30 and by 12:00 they checked me into the pre-op room. During the next 30 minutes I was made comfortable and hooked up with an I.V. I spoke with the Anastasia doctor and that was the last time anyone checked on me until 4:30. That's 3 hours without seeing anyone from the medical staff & my headaches got worse, blood sugar dropped, my back issues began to surface, and I was freezing cold. At about 4:30 they took me to the operating room, and they were running very late. Before the Anastasia was given, I ask the doctor to explain what was about to happen during surgery, but he didn't have time to explain. He told me that I could go ahead with the surgery or I could cancel and reschedule for another day. I was told during pre-op that the Anastasia could take up to 1 1/2 hours to recover and then they could release me. The gave me 30 minutes and wheeled me to the front door even though I had headaches, nausea and couldn't even sit up without assistance. The nurse in the recovery room kept looking at her watch, I think everyone was ready to go home for the weekend. My doctor never talked to me after the surgery to let me know if everything was OK. They were in a huge hurry and had little concern for their patient's welfare. I've had 5 surgeries in my life, and this medical facility is by far the worst I've ever seen.
The nurses here and intake was extremely nice. However, this facility is privately owned by doctors. I had surgery and they took my complete out of pocket for the year months ago. I can never get any correctional actions done to complete my claim. In fact, I was told they had 6 months as they hold thousands of my dollars. This is incorrdct as it goes against their contract. They never answer me or my insurance calls. I could never get my file on my surgery to see 100% what was done. I filed a complaint with my insurance against the facility. I believe this facility and doctors are all about money and gauging insurance claims and products. It was filled out of network which is not the case. Total disregard for the financial burden on my family that they put us in and the impact of my recovery. Now I am on the process of calling in a complaint with CII. Be aware of this facility and insurance claims!!!! Next step is lawyer and the TDI. Please watch your claims with this facility and the definitely the charges. Luckly I have 7 year medical background and a cousin who is a medical lawyer. However, I do feel bad for the people that aren't knowledgeable in this area. Know your rights! Do your research! For those other people who unknowingly got messed over here... you have one year from date of service to correct it and re-file. Please if you had a claim here, break out your forms, bills, explanation of benefits and review for accuracy and compliance. Hope this helps someone.
I took a loved one in early this morning for a surgery. We arrived at 5:45 am, and the second we got to the front door, a sweet older lady opened the door and warmly greeted us, then had us check in. Everyone from the nurses, anesthesiologist and the doctor, was very friendly and made us feel at ease. The whole process was very fast and efficient, but thorough, and we didn't feel rushed. By the time we left, the waiting room was full, and I can see how that might reflect some of the bad reviews regarding wait time. However, I'd come back here even if I had to wait extra, because the professionalism of the staff would more than make up for it. Definitely impressed with the way this office runs, especially these days when good customer service isn't as common.
