While it is understandable that things happen and procedures may be delayed, it is not acceptable that communication is not fluid and frequent. My dad’s procedure today was delayed and we were initially informed after waiting for about an hour. At that time It was communicated that there would be a 1 hour delay. 2 hours later…no update. When I made my way to the reception desk to ask for an update I was given the same “there’s an hour delay”. However at that point we had been in the office for more than 3 hours. As the patient my dad was understandably anxious, restless, and down right upset. This all could have been avoided. It should be common practice that when there is a delay patients are kept abreast of what is happening. After the additional hour, someone should have come out and explained the situation. Coming out 30 minutes after I asked for an update and saying there’s a delay and you can go eat or run errands is not ideal. We are over an hour away from home… communication should be a common courtesy and to dismiss the inconvenience is just flat out rude. Please don’t put others through this unnecessary situation.
I had cataract surgery today with Dr. Taub. It was strange being there for a cataract as someone in my 20s, but all of the staff were incredibly sweet. The experience from start to finish was phenomenal! I was really nervous and they were so patient with me and made sure to explain everything before they did it. The wait time was short. They really have the entire process down to an efficient science. Chloe was my pre-op nurse and so incredibly sweet! Got the IV first try despite me having really bad veins. By the time I woke up in PACU I really couldn’t read the name of the nurse I had because my vision was still blurry, but I think it might have been Chandler? Either way, whoever it was, she was equally sweet and understanding and made sure I had my pain controlled before leaving. If I eventually need to have my other eye operated on, I know I’ll be in great hands!
Upon arrival I was very concerned. The waiting room was extremely crowded and there was no place to sit. The receptionist was overwhelmed and there was a line. Then, I met the incredibly caring staff. From the check in festive woman, to the incredible nurses (check in, surgical and recovery) and anesthesiologist that cared for me I felt I was in great hand. Finally, may I suggest offering hot coffee in the waiting room for the tired people waiting for patients at 7am
I had eye surgery at this facility yesterday, and while I appreciate the skill of the surgical team, my overall experience was disappointing. I had a very long wait time before my procedure, which added a lot of stress to an already anxious day. What was most upsetting, though, was the lack of sensitivity from some of the nursing staff regarding my pain and discomfort. I felt my concerns weren’t taken seriously and that I was being rushed through the process, especially since I was the last case of the day. I understand that delays happen, but patients still deserve compassionate care and attention. I hope the staff can take this feedback constructively to improve communication and empathy for future patients. Update- I tried calling the number and no one knew who I was supposed to speak to. I am not sure if this was an auto response but definitely doesn’t seem genuine since I called the number and was transferred to a voicemail. Again, opportunity for improvement.
I couldn’t be happier with my results! My eyes look amazing, and the difference is beyond what I imagined. The entire experience from the consultation to the follow-up was professional, caring, and reassuring. I felt completely at ease the whole time. Thank you for giving me such beautiful, natural looking results. I’m thrilled every time I look in the mirror! Highly recommend to anyone considering eye surgery! Lori Dao is the absolute best
