The worst ER experience we have ever had! We waited nine hours in the waiting room with our daughter in excruciating pain. She was offered no help! When we were finally moved to the back, there was no one in sight… No nurses, empty beds everywhere and she was never even offered an ice pack let alone IV fluids or any pain medicine. The doctor actually said that unless you were dying, they “do not care!” We left on our own. Totally inhumane treatment.
I had gallbladder surgery and the hospital and staff were wonderful. My surgeon, Justin Philip, was great. He went above and beyond through my whole journey. He quite probably saved my life by making me get tested and treated for sleep apnea. Highly recommend him and the hospital.
I used to love this hospital. I now live in NJ but have to come here for a blood draw once a week before work. EVERY TIME I COME HERE THERE IS ONE PERSON WORKING. There are about ten people ahead me and I’m probably going to be late to work AGAIN. It’s EVERYWHERE and now at our hospitals. I’m so tired of lazy, unmotivated people! I can’t stand my job but I’m still on time and work my butt off!
Do not bother using the contact form they respond to each negative review with. I chose not to leave a review initially but instead filled out the form. It’s been almost two weeks, no response. They genuinely do not care. I brought my relative in with stroke-like symptoms. The intake nurse was prompt and kind. His ER nurse messed up drawing blood, he said “oops”, and never came back again. The ER doctor was obviously not equipped to give out a stroke diagnosis, however he also never came back after we first came in. He said we’ll run some tests. We never saw either one of them again until it was shift change 6 hours later. He was admitted, but a mri test was not available until 34 hours after we arrived. In that time, the nuerologist came to his room twice, both times saying he may be having a stroke but he was not sure without the mri. No explanation of anything or what is going to be done. We never saw a neurologist again after that, when I asked the nurse if we could speak to one, a different neurologist called and had a huge attitude, no answers, and told us not to bother going to neurology outpatient after discharge. How is this hospital receiving any awards for how they handle strokes and heart-attacks when they couldn’t care less about even talking to their patients and explaining that they are having a stroke? I did find the announcement over the loud speaker about this award amusing as it was evidently not earned. He then was seen by cardiology and had minor surgery, the cardiologist did his best to answer our questions but made it clear he was not a neurologist and could only provide limited explanations. The cardiologist was thorough with explaining what he was doing and the surgery. He was the only doctor who truly made an effort the entire time we were there. I feel confident bringing my relative back to his department in the future if need be. I only wish neurology was as efficient. Finally, the last day, my relative was sick and having accidents while in bed. I changed his sheets twice with no help from his nurse. At 7am that morning I asked if he could have Pepto or something to calm him down until discharge, which was supposed to be that morning. She said ok and never bothered to ask the doctor. She said he wasn’t nauseous and didn’t need it. (He was) She clearly hated her job and had the worst attitude. Even after he had another accident on himself, she refused to ask the doctor for medicine. I asked for the head nurse and was given his roommates nurse who also had an attitude and condescendingly asked if he wanted a diaper. They then lied and said they cannot give any patients Imodium, we didn’t ask for Imodium we asked for pepto or a relative medicine to ease his stomach. I asked if we could just leave if they weren’t willing to provide him proper care, then they gave him his discharge papers. The nurse he had his last day, and all the nurses on that shift hate working and providing care. They will neglect and abuse your relatives and loved ones, and then laugh about it when leaving the room. Their neurology department is a joke and I’m not even sure it exists. All in all, this hospital is a joke. This is the 4th time my relative has been neglected at this hospital and the 3rd time of which that it nearly killed him. There are better options in the area, protect yourself and your loved ones and go elsewhere. Again, don’t bother contacting them or reaching out, they will not respond and do not care, which seems to be the running theme. The ONLY saving grace of this stay were his nurse Brad and Skyla. They should train other staff on how to treat patients. Their bedside manner was amazing, they answered questions when they could, and they genuinely cared about people. I hope the hospital can train its staff to follow their lead. But we will not be back here to find out. I will continue to tell my family and friends to avoid this unsafe hospital. I advise others to do the same.
My go to hospital for myself and family. I've been a Nurse since 79. I feel at home, safe, and trust that myself, loved ones are being taken care of should I leave them there alone. I would give the nurses a Magnet Award. It's clean, hospital food is not bad! Everyone that works there has your best interests. Not the greatest hospital for Neurology work ups. Consider other resources. Have had great experiences with Cardiac Vascular Depts re Cardiac caths, heart bypass surgery, endarterectomy, cardiac rehab. Also orthopedic surgery, breast cancer follow ups, cardiology management, urology, GI, and Endrocrinology! Stay well!
