Competent staff. Dr Morayta took great care in treating my injury. I feel good about the outcome.
Inconsistent billing practices that are difficult to understand. I visited the podiatry office for the same service 2 years in a row with the exact same insurance plan. They said in the office notes, the service rendered was worded differently but it was the same service both years. The first year the way they coded it, the visit was covered. They coded my second visit differently and I had to pay over $250! I spoke to several people in billing and no one could help me and just said I had to pay. It's really frustrating as a customer. I like Dr. Holm but will be looking for a new podiatry office.
I’ll start by saying all of my previous experiences at this clinic, and the NE clinic, where my PCP is located, have been overwhelmingly positive. That said, my experience today overshadows those. I made an appointment for an MRI the first week of December, after being told in-person that my health insurance company gave prior-authorization for coverage; my appointment was for this morning, January 2nd. I received a call from this location’s radiology department 45 MINUTES before my appointment today, telling me that my insurance company denied coverage for my MRI on December 23rd…10 days ago. I jumped through the hoops to make my appointment, I waited a month for my appointment, I woke up early for my appointment, only to be told less than an hour before my appointment that I would have to pay out of pocket, when that information was learned over a week prior. I’ve been in the care of the Portland clinic for a decade, and while I love my PCP, the quality of operations of The Portland Clinic have been steadily declining for the last few years.
Kris in radiology was incredible. I was feeling very anxious to get this test done, and her patience and empathy was enough to make me cry. Hands down the best experience getting an MRI I’ve ever had.
I saw Dr. Jonathan Crist after a bad fall. I usually only work with women practitioners as I have had some horrific experiences with male physicians and was a little reluctant at first. Dr. Crist put me at ease immediately. He is a professional, respectful, thoughtful, open, and calm person who worked with me to design a plan that honored my medical preferences, abilities, goals, and needs in a strategic and workable way. My healing was amazing under his care. I stayed off the surgical table and have recovered beautifully with his measured, consistent, and personalized care. I cannot give a high enough recommendation for Dr. Crist's professional and interpersonal skills. He is an absolute gem in the industry and I wish every care provider could take a Master Class from him.
