I am grateful the docs knew how to fix my retinal detachment- no small miracle. However, the office is disjointed, usually behind with long wait times that would be acceptable if I felt my concerns were their concern. I was told by a staff member I was being seen for a cataract surgery (at my annual exam -- before the doc had even examined me!) Happily, I didn't follow thru on that right eye surgery because after the detachment in my left eye, I did develop a real cataract in that left eye . The cataract removal and lens implant is disappointing at best. My near vision is gone altogether in that eye . I tutor, I read, I sew, and my near vision is most valuable to me. Please research your lens choices - you don't have to accept a monofocal distance lens and I would have chosen something else had all the choices been properly presented. Your old glasses won't work with the IOL eye, but if you stop at Lenscrafters they will put a clear lens in for $25. Amber driving sunglasses will give some relief from the glare you get from the lens implant and helps with depth perception. In regard to new glasses, if you do not order them from the CVP office, they will not give you your pupillary distance with your prescription. I hope this saves the next guy from some frustration in dealing with CVP, where you feel like an assembly line.
I feel fortunate having Dr Miller keeping her eye on me:) (Couldn't resist that!). I have the utmost confidence in her skills and ability and wouldnt want anyone else. A recent visit to the office had a situation where Dr Miller was called on a medical emergency. The staff kept us informed every step of the way, accomodated those who needed to reschedule, and continued with other things they could be doing with patients while waiting on Dr Miller to return. When you are one of the best in your field, these things will happen, and if I were in that emergency situation I would also want Dr Miller. The staff didnt take anything for granted and handled the situation well and made the best of it. Excellent job I thought.
Do you enjoy wasting your time? Do you enjoy taking multiple days off at work only to have your appointment rescheduled when you arrive at said appointment? Do you enjoy wasting gas in your vehicle? Do you enjoy being billed multiple co-pays for services you didn't receive? Do you enjoy receptionist scheduling a procedure and arriving the day of only to be told that procedure can't be performed at this location? Well then, if you answered yes to any of the following questions I highly recommend this place.
Dr. Kopp and the CVP Physicians group have always been professional and competent since I started going to them 7 years ago. In fact they were the ones that found my brain tumor 7 years ago. Consequently I now have glaucoma for which I see Dr Kopp for. She's always energetic and positive. She is a straight shooter with information about my condition. She doesn't hold back anything. In fact I think of her as the energizer bunny. I feel confident that she has my best interest all the time.
Let me begin with how personally grateful I am the head nurse got me scheduled as a new patient in 2 business days, thank you Sam. Alexis and Aaron, thank you for being patient and putting me at ease with the tests I actually have never done before and if I had, literally decades ago. Dr. Liston, thank you for being so thorough and delivering GREAT NEWS! Reading glasses is a VICTORY to me. Don’t worry doc, not all patients are gonna throw a Retina Scope at ya if the just need reading glasses! At least I wouldn’t!!
