My visit from beginning to end was pleasant. The staff was nice, professional and personable. If I ever needed another procedure I'd want it to be done there. The only thing I didnt care for was that I was under the impression that my bf would come into the recovery room and the paperwork for home care would be discussed. He didnt come into recovery and no home care stuff was discussed. They really do kinda rush you out, but I was ready to go anyway so I didnt take it too personal.
The front desk was wonderful, the pre op op nurses they are fabulous and the post op and the one's in my room until it was time to go were amazing. They remembered me in April for my knee replacement and they went above and beyond and Barbara my nurse was amazing, we laughed so much. Thank you Lord for blessing me with a amazing team!! God bless all that was part of my procedure today
Had surgery on 12/1 at SCG and this was my first time coming here as a patient. I had read the reviews and was very anxious about the facility. I paid my estimated bills on time so I had no issues there. My first encounter was with Check In. Destiny was as sour as the 530am arrival time. Had an attitude with me for whatever reason of her own. I thought this was not a good sign. However, from then on I was warmly welcomed by the most friendliest of staff. Registration was with Kelsey. Very friendly and explained the visitation process regarding when he could go back with me. They gave him an information sheet so that he could track me through the entire procedure. Next, I had Beth as my Pre-Op RN. So friendly and fun. She made me feel more at ease. She explained what would happen in her area with great detail. So very thankful I had Beth as my initial encounter. Then I met Anesthesia. Briefly. Dr Hatchett went over his process and that Charlie -CRNA would be assisting. Charlie transported me to the OR. I was so excited to get to see the OR Room, but Charlie gave me Versed on the ride up and I dont remember anything after injecting my IV. Dr Grewal was my surgeon. I could go on and on about how personable and friendly she is. If you don't have a GYN, I highly recommend Dr Grewal. Just very pleased with my care. I was admitted to an overnight room which was just like staying in a hotel. Very nice rooms with a recliner and sofa bed for guests. Very cozy room to recover in. My next encounter was with my day shift nurse, Barbara. Amazing bedside manner, caring, friendly and stayed on top of my pain meds. I felt horrible about the many bathroom trips I required, but Barbara never once made me feel like an annoyance. Barbara even ordered me a catered lunch thru The Honey Baked Ham Co. Probably because I had been NPO since midnight, that was the best Ham and Cheese Croissant I have ever had. The CC Cookie hit the spot also. Very blessed to have had Barbara overseeing my care. Overnight, I had 'Nurse Jackie' :) and CNA Annie. Another amazing team. The friendliest of staff and very caring. Also stayed on top of my pain meds so I was never in any discomfort. I could not have had a better experience and I liked this facility much more so than a larger hospital setting. Would recommend SCG to anyone.
I am so appreciative of the excellent care my daughter received from Dr. Rogers and all the great staff! Beth was her preop nurse and had such a calming nature. Kathy kept us updated so we wouldn't worry. (as much) They provide incredible care in a comfortable environment.
We recently visited SCG for our Sons surgery. The staff could not have been more pleasant Check in was easy, registration was easyâŚthis process was streamlined. Youâre given a âkeyâ or âlegendâ to follow to know exactly where your loved one is all the way through the process. We were a nervous wreck, as we were there for our 3 year old but they made it very simple! We got called back for pre-op where we met Olivia. Sweetest nurse ever. She offered stickers and coloring options to our Son. He asked if they had anything with the police on it. He wants to be a police man. She looked for anything police man and when she couldnât find it, she printed police things for him to color, including a police badge. She was the first to put us at ease from a medical perspective. She made it clear this was not her first rodeo with kiddos. Thank you, Olivia! Anesthesia team met with us to explain the anesthesia process and documentation was signed. We were told the CRNA and OR nurse would be in next to transport our Son to the OR to get him off to sleep. His surgeon came in to explain her portion once more. This had been explained previously in her office but she was doing her due diligence! We cannot speak highly enough about the CRNA Kelsey and OR nurse Jordan. By the time they came in, our Son had worked up some nerves and he was very hungry/thirsty (this may be the most difficult partâesp for a toddler that doesnât understand that he canât eat after midnight). They made the experience up to the OR a fun one! They pretended his bed was a race car and raced off to the elevator to take him upstairs, making all of the necessary boy loving car sounds! Again, a group of people with clear experience with children. This was so relieving for us as his parents. We had to separate ourselves from him and this was very difficult, but he held up great on his end with his team thanks to these wonderful ladies!!! Got a call from our babyâs surgeon that all went well and heâs on his way to PACU. She gave a briefing on how things went, and post op instructions and left the line open for questions. Last stop, PACU. YesâŚitâs a processâŚbut worth it and itâs down to a science. This isnât supposed to be an in and out thing. This is where we met Kelly. What an amazing human. She assured us right as we met her that our boy was doing great! These are all the words a parent needs to hear when their baby comes out of surgery and certainly the first time theyâve had general anesthesia. We were led upstairs by Kelly to a small room to go over post op instructions before we got to see himâthis again is super smart and a way theyâve streamlined the process. If we had seen him first, thereâs a better chance we would have been distracted and not absorbing all of the post operative information. Kelly was extremely thorough, answered all of our questions, and led us to our baby. And we could never leave out BrookeâŚ.what a wonderful nurse with a great personality. Just a really likable person and someone youâd want at your bedside to take care of you. Thank you for giving such great care to our baby. SCG, do something for these ladies, PLEASE. They really exceeded our expectations. And not like a pizza party đ. Like sumân big đ.
