I scheduled this appointment about three weeks ago and had the day circled because it was supposed to be the start of addressing an ongoing eye issue I have been dealing with. Unfortunately, I was unexpectedly working on December 26, 2025. I am a social worker and ended up transporting a child, which caused a delay. I believed my appointment was at 1:00 PM, and once I realized I would be about 30 minutes late, I called to explain the situation and ask if I could still come. The woman I spoke with told me the appointment would only be held for 15 minutes and that I would be charged a 50 dollar no show fee. I asked if I could still come anyway and explained it was last minute but unavoidable. She said no and stated the fee would apply. She then mentioned that my actual appointment time was 1:15 PM, but since I was a new patient, they asked me to arrive at 1:00 PM. I explained that if the appointment time was 1:15 and I was asking to arrive by 1:30 at the latest, it did not make sense to charge a no show fee since I was not 15 minutes late to the actual appointment time. She told me that was incorrect because new patients are required to arrive 15 minutes early. I tried to explain how unreasonable that sounded. What is the purpose of an appointment time if you are expected to arrive earlier and then charged a fee based on that earlier time instead of the scheduled appointment time. She stated she spoke with a colleague or supervisor and said I could cancel the appointment, but if I wanted to reschedule, I would still have to pay the 50 dollar fee. I found this very insulting and illogical. The entire interaction felt rigid and dismissive, and the woman was rude throughout the conversation. I chose not to reschedule and ended the call. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unreasonable experience. Worst experience I have had with a medical office.
Was referred here by Urgent Care due to my husband had an ulcer on his eye. We were to see the Ophthalmologist on call. Arrived, filled out paperwork, seated, called back were the assistant charted and look into his eye, seated again in the waiting room, called back again and left seating in a room listening to the doctor going to the room beside us more than once. Very very poor service. So in short of you are referred here for an on call Ophthalmologist don't waste your time coming here.
It was my first visit to this eye clinic, and I was really impressed! Dr. Tanner was very kind and took the time to carefully examine my eyes. Spencer, the assistant, was also incredibly friendly and made me feel so comfortable throughout the visit. Thanks to both of them, I didn’t feel nervous at all and had a great experience. Highly recommend this clinic!
The office staff is always SO rude no matter what time or day you call, everyone acts as if you’re bothering them or incompetent- doesn’t matter who answers it’s always the same. Reminder, kindness goes a long way!
I had a small skin tag on my eyelid and the local optometrist told me I'd need an ophthalmologist to cut it off since it was on the edge of my upper eyelid. I knew it was nothing critical, so just wanted to pay cash to have it cut off, no big deal. I made an appointment for a consultation with Greensboro Ophthalmology, but life got busy and I missed the appointment. I still wanted the bump gone, so once life slowed down again, I called them back to reschedule only to be scolded by the appointment girl for missing the previous appointment. I was surprised by how offended she sounded, so I offered her my credit card since she seemed so concerned about the penalty payment for my missed consultation appointment. She refused my credit card info. but it simultaneously seemed to further upset her.?. I then asked how much the consultation would be so I'd be prepared and she again got flustered and put me on hold for a while. She finally came back and said she couldn't tell me how much a direct pay consultation would be, that I should bring at least $125. I was shocked at her answer. No idea? Not even a shot in the dark for an in & out conversation months down the road? I mean, you do this daily, correct? I can't be the first person to want to pay cash for a consultation. Obviously, I sought an alternate provider (a local cosmetic surgeon that did the procedure 3 days after my initial call for $350 = DONE) after being scolded by Greensboro Ophthalmology because I refuse to PAY to be treated like that - No Thanks. Your employee let her concern for your dime hold up your dollar.
