Patient centered care is minimal. They cancelled my 2nd surgery 16 hrs prior to the surgery because they are no longer offering anesthesia services to Ophthalmology patients . I had to use out of pocket money and go to a different surgery center. On the up side, the pre op and post op care at the surgery center at Southpark was far superior. Lesson learned and buyer beware. #AtriumRN
I had an excellent experience here for sinus surgery in October. The nursing staff in pre and post op were very caring and the anesthesia team was also amazing. Having very thorough and kind professionals around me at all times made me feel much more at ease during the stress of surgery (the happy meds they gave me as they were wheeling me back also didn’t hurt haha). Grateful to this team for taking great care of me!
Edit: After two months waiting for a reply, the messages that I wrote through their portal have now been deleted. There is no worse business practices than here. Two words: ITEMIZED BILL! They are shady. They must be overcharging us and trying not to get caught. I've been trying to get an itemized bill for more than a month and "they are unable". Hmm. They were able to charge me more than $2000 BEFORE the surgery even happened. They told me I owed them $2000 the morning that I showed up for surgery. That's dirty and the last thing I needed 30 minutes before surgery. Don't bother sending messages to their portal - they ignore them. Call them on the phone - they dismiss you. After 5 weeks, my itemized bill for a $35,000 surgery (this is just to rent their place - I had to pay the surgeons separately) is 2 line items. $12,800 - surgery. $11,300 - surgery. Then the miscellaneous items line. I guess I'll have to take it to the next level. They're scamming us and the insurance that we're paying for. No wonder healthcare is so expensive.
I had a wonderful experience here today for my foot surgery. The staff went above and beyond to make surgery (of all things) a memorable and even comical experience. Emily (hope you enjoyed your birthday Sonic!) and Laura were funny, personable, and truly showed love and dedication in their work. There was another fantastic nurse whose name I regret not learning the name of (sassy, big personalitily, brown hair), but the entire team had me cracking up, which is not something I ever expected from a hospital or surgical center. Their laughter, kindness, and professionalism put me at ease both before and after surgery. It reminded me that laughter really is the best medicine, and the Patch Adams–like spirit of this team deserves recognition from upper management. In over forty years of being in-and-out of hospitals, I have never encountered patient care like this. It wasn’t just good medicine: it was healing in the truest sense. Whoever is in charge of this team, DO SOMETHING NICE FOR THESE NURSES! They deserve to be commended.
Easy to find. Easy to park. Fast, friendly, efficient, check-in, and processing, clean and comfortable and spacious waiting room bonus – fantastic coffee machine. Very much appreciated when waiting for patients in the early morning hours. Graham at check in is hilarious. Staff goes under their way to make you feel comfortable and communicate the process. Downside is billing. Wish they would just give an itemized list once with all the fees. Instead of phone calls here and there. Overall great experience.
