The sign for it is not very visible. Impossible to get on the phone though
I had a wonderful experience with this practice as a pediatric patient. Unfortunately, after transitioning to the adult side of the department, my experience declined significantly. As an established patient, I once called the office with concerning symptoms and was advised to go to the emergency room immediately, with the assurance that the office would follow up promptly to schedule a colonoscopy. After waiting nearly 12 hours in the ER, I ultimately went to a different hospital, was evaluated, and then attempted multiple times to follow up with this office without ever receiving a response. I was extremely disappointed and ultimately sought care elsewhere, where I received an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. At the time, I chose not to leave a review, as I'm not someone who does this often. However, more recently, someone very close to me was seen by this department and was diagnosed with colon cancer through an emergency colonoscopy. He was scheduled for surgery to remove the cancer and given a date. When he called about a week before the surgery date, he was informed that there was no record of him being scheduled at all. He is now urgently trying to establish care with another provider, hoping the cancer has not progressed due to this office’s negligence. Based on these experiences, I strongly advise against seeking care here. The repeated lack of communication and follow-through, especially in a situation involving cancer, is deeply concerning.
Horrible!!! I was suppose to see a Dr. John. at University Gastroenterology for a colonoscopy procedure. After days w/o eating, drinking a concoction, running back and forth to the bathroom; I arrived at 2 pm early as requested. My appointment was 2:30. I was told I needed a driver to arrive with me. Became upset because no one told me before hand and left the office. Found a driver at 2:06 or 2:07. I remind you my appointment was not until 2:30. I am told the driver had to be there by 2:15. I asked if the staff or the doctor would speak to the driver on the phone to verify they are on their way . The receptionist went in the back, came out with a no at 2:11 pm reporting the doctor left the building. No compassion at its best. Won’t be accepting private practice referrals through Upstate anymore. LESSON LEARNED.
Staff is great and accommodateing. I was in and out and they even helped with an insurance issue.. if ya need your pipes checked i highly recommend
This has been a truly frustrating experience. I have told the staff multiple times, I have trouble communicating, and would appreciate a phone call, or complete sentences. They continue to send me incomplete sentences, not share the details of my tests from over a week ago when going to work is dependent on the results, and are now telling me I can repeat the tests with no explanation as to why I would need to repeat the tests. They do not care if you are disabled or have trouble learning, they will just talk to you fast and then when you call for more information, they’ll never call you back. Update: two of my tests couldn’t be completed because of inaccurate information given on how they needed to be prepared. I had to find out the reason through Quest diagnostics, not them. They told me I had to come to an appointment to retake workup tests that should have been completed prior to the appointment. I found all my results through Quest. They seemed angry that I cancelled my appointment, although all the test results that needed to be completed prior, were not, and the others taken properly came back negative. I asked if these were supposed to be taken before the appointment, why are you refusing to give them to me again, they could not be taken due to how you improperly told me how to prepare for the test. I was told it was inappropriate to call the office manager although her phone number which was online through a medical website next to her name. She then told me she would get back to me early the next week, and it has been the end of the week. They never got back to me. I called and tried to make things right with them, including messaging, but it seems they just do not want to deal with any mistake they have made. It’s been a waste of my time and money. I lost out on work because they procrastinated in giving me any response as to if I could go back, while knowing I was dependent on that answer. On top of this, they refused to write me a doctor’s not while simultaneously telling me I should hold off from work until my test results came in.
