Had eye surgery with Dr. John Kung here. Doctors and nurses and the procedure were good. Bedside manners needs improvement at Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center. We were there for 5 hours for a procedure and after the surgery, Stephanie in the front desk lied to us and wanted us to wait longer for another patient so she can pair us up in a cab to avoid calling for another car. There was an issue with billing. I had to get Olga on a conference call with BCBS regarding a deductible. They were, of course, wrong. They wanted to charge me over a $1,000, but my responsibility was only $111. Dr. John Kung good. Facility customer service needs improvement. Better communication is needed too. There were older patients there who haven't eaten or drank all day, at least keep them updated on delays.

My mother in law was scheduled to have an eye surgery a few days ago. What an exceptional and courteous health care team! She has had such great surgical experiences there twice. I would highly recommend this surgery center. It is a very clean and efficient site. The front desk, nurses and doctors were very pleasant and friendly. They made this process very smooth.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN THIS PLACE!!! I wish I can give zero star. I was there with my mom last week for her eye surgery. We got here @ 11:00am. However, we were told there were 3 people ahead of her, so there’ll be an hour and a half wait. After she was taken in, I was told I had to wait outside the building. I was ok with that because I understood they didn’t want too many people waiting in the clinic. The nurse told me they’ll call me when my mom is done. So I went out to wait. There was no place you can sit & wait around there since it’s a residential area. It was raining that day. So I sat on the side-walk under a tree 2 doors down the block. After 2 hours wait, got no calls, went in to ask if my mom is done. Again, the secretaries told me “we will call you when she’s done”, again was told to wait outside. Another hour passed, no calls from the clinic. Instead got a call from my sister saying my mom has been done and waited outside for me for half another. I walked back to the clinic and saw my mom, with one eye patched, can barely see well, standing next to the car service, extremely nervous, and lost. She told me somebody from the clinic walked her out to the car service, and the driver was going to drive her home without me. She does not speak much English. All she could say was “daughter, daughter”. But the person from the clinic paid her no mind. The driver kept yelling at my mom and rushing her to leave, calling my mom “stupid”. HOW DO YOU TELL ME REPEATIVELY THAT “SOMEBODY WILL CALL YOU WHEN SHE’S DONE”, YET NODODY CALLED ME, AND YOU JUST PUT HER IN THE CAR SERVICE ALONE WITHOUT THE PERSON WHO ACCOMPANIED HER OR ANY OF HER BELONGINGS???!!! When we were in the car on our way home, the driver told us to “shut up” when we were discussing what happened. I was furious and my mom was so panicking. The staff in this surgery center are unprofessional, unreliable and rude. The car service they use for this place is terrible, drivers are rude and nasty!

The staff on the reception desk not friendly and rude.Terrible receptionist. I had surgery there on July 6, 2020.With no real explanation they persisted to pay some ($230) money upfront when you came to surgery, other way no scheduled surgery on this (planned) day. Receipt that they gave me does not say for what they charged me. My doctor participated in my primary and secondary insurances on the facility where located Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center. So I do not have deductible for participated facility, only copay $25. But at that time I did not have choice and paid upfront.. I am going to complain about this issue to insurance company and also disputed with credit company. But doctor and medical staff are the best and very professional. So, try to avoid to use this Sheepshead Bay Surgery Center facility. PS: I forgot to say, I know only one company that charged upfront of service. Its Funeral Service.
