On June 12 2025, I was scheduled for a left hip replacement procedure. . Prior to the procedure I was required to receive a pre-op physical exam whereby in addition to the usual pre-op exam I was also given a blood test to check for any signs of a MRSA infection or other infections. The results came back as negative. After the surgery I was released from the facility and discovered that I was unable to speak without extreme hoarseness and unable to speak clearly. I was told it was because I just come out of general anesthesia and not to worry.my voice would return. Now at almost 8months and multiple visits to a speech therapist as well as multiple visits to an ENT Dr, I am still struggling my speech. If that was not enough, I managed to contract a Staff and Strep infection. The infection was serious enough that I had to repeat the surgery at WDH in Dover and spend 4 days on an IV drip with powerful antibiotics. After hospital release, I spent 3 weeks on home healthcare hooked to an IV Drip with an antibiotics.. even though this surgical facility was aware of my condition at no time did they ever reach out to check on my progress or offer any explanations.

My knee feels better than it has in months, less than 24 hours after surgery. I would have preferred being able to set up a payment plan instead of paying up front but I understand the reasons for this policy. The staff was excellent - professional, friendly, and obviously good at what they do - I feel great!

I could not say more wonderful things about the incredibly kind and professional team here. The front desk and the nursing team were wonderful. Nurse Meg and Maria from anesthesiology were particularly kind in setting me at ease. Discharge nurses were wonderful as well. Thank you!
