I’ve been coming to box canyon for years and I’ve never had a problem. Recently they’ve changed ownership and completely changed the prices. No warning just call the day before and rudely demand over $900 more than usual. This felt like I was being held up. Absolutely disgusted with the horrible treatment. The last surgery I was charged 2X. I paid cash and they charged my insurance. Charged my insurance over $3400. This is wrong and I wouldn’t recommend using this company.

While waiting in my car for.husband to have his eye surgery I killed my battery. Called good Sam for a charge but their service was an hour out. When hubby was ready. I told the nurse to keep him for awhile whilst I waited for my service call.next thing i know there were two nurses giving me a charge! Great Staff and he’s very pleased with his new vision!

In general, the staff was friendly, and Dr. Wellish is a very good Doctor. On my first visit for Cataract #1 on Jan 11, I arrived 40 min early, as I was asked too, when the nurse called me that morning. I still ended up laying in the prep room over 2 hrs before being taken into surgery room. And on Feb 1, I ended up laying on this flat bed 3 hrs and 40 min, before being taken to surgery room for eye #2. I had a 12pm appt, but I wasn't completely finished and out of there until 4:26 pm !! All the patients that arrived and had appts AFTER me was done with surgery and gone, but I ended up being the last patient of the day, with no explanation as to why. My hip Bursitis made this an even worse nightmare. Not until after 2 hrs of laying completely flat on this surgery bed, did anyone come into my cubicle to check on me, to see if I was comfortable, and this was also the first time i was told that the head of the bed could be raised for my comfort, but still no explanation of why i was waiting so long, or why everyone the entire afternoon was waited on ahead of me. After being there for several hours, i at least expected someone to have the courtesy to let me know what was going on. Instead, I was left there completely forgotten about !!

The surgery center was very professional and fast. They did a good job of prepping me for surgery and helping me alleviate my fears. The surgery went well and seems to have been a success. I had a glaucoma surgery here and I am doing much better.
