Overall not a bad experience. Nobody likes to have surgery and despite a little bit of my attitude the staff was very polite. All my information was gathered together and explained to my driver upon discharge. They called me like they said they would the next day to check on my progress and were able to answer questions I came up with. Billing was simple but beware you will have to pay up front for your portion of your procedure after any insurance. Edit: I was sent a bill much larger than what I paid up front. The phone rings unanswered most of the time for billing help or the receptionists.
I'm trying to have a simple surgery but can't. The anistoligy depth felt I was high risk and refused. Made me do testing before they would accept me, and then after testing, that was unnecessary. I was told no because I use o2 at night on occasion! They refused my surgery! The testing of echocardagram was done 2 months ago! My heart, Dr. approved surgery! This place is crazy and lacks medical knowledge evidently! Dr's should consider other locations before sending patients here. Upon reading reviews, I'm glad I did not go because it seems the billing depth is not experienced very well either.
I had to be there at 8:45, I was there at 8:20. They got me all checked in, I do not get called back until 9:20. With that being said, I was nervous and it gave me time to calm my nerves a little. They got me ready and I have had some good nursing staffs, but these ladies. Let me tell you, went above and beyond. Classy place, the doctor is very good. He let me joke and use talking to calm my nerves once in the room. All around great experience, as for the billing. I went in, I had already spoken with the billing department a few days ahead of time. Had everything set up and ready to go, would say those ladies were a class act too. I’m sure they all deal with some doozie patients, but they handled me with care and made me feel right at home. Thank you again, would be nice to see you all again. Just not at the expense of another procedure, I’m hoping one was enough. Couldn’t say enough great things about this place
The surgery center and staff were great, but the billing process here is so bad that I would recommend staying away. They'll give you a good faith estimate, but the estimate doesn't include "supplies." What they didn't tell me is that the "supplies" are multiple times more expensive than the rest of the procedure combined. They refuse to provide itemized billing on "supplies" but charged me $23,000 for it, claiming "insurance paid it so it must be correct." After asking enough questions to challenge the bill, they realized they erroneously billed me $23,000 instead of $7,800. Again, insurance paid their share of "supplies" based on a formula and it was deemed "correct" despite the inflated cost compared to the retail prices of the items used in the procedure. When the error was discovered, they told me they would just be revising my portion of the bill and not the insurance process (which would have let them keep an extra $12,000), and didn't reprocess it through insurance until I requested them to with Aetna on the line. The doctors who operate out of this facility are doing themselves a disservice because regardless of how good the team was, I would never have another procedure here.
My boyfriend had surgery at 1030. We had to be there at 9, they took him back, and he sat back in the pre-op room for almost an hour and a half with no one really checking on him for at least 30 minutes. Not to mention they pulled him from the waiting room without letting me know I wouldn't see him until after his surgery. Then at 9:25 I was notified that the procedure had started just to find out an hour and a half later at 11:00 the procedure had started again.... This is nerve racking for some people, there needs to be better communication.
