I’ve never had a bad experience with St Luke’s. I was born here, my mother-in-law had an amazing doctor and was given excellent end-of-life care. I’m currently waiting for my father to get out of surgery an every last staff member I’ve come across has had wonderful attitude, and smiles. When you’re as nervous as I am, having just a little smile can be comforting. I also want to say that Dr Eichholz is a very competent surgeon, though his bedside manner is a little curt. I have a feeling it’s a personality thing and nothing to be offended by.
My experience was amazing. The staff ensured I felt cared for, comfortable, and safe. My nurse, Judy, was outstanding. She’s so good at her job, and definitely in the right field. Thank you!!
My wife was supposed to have same day surgery 2/1 at the center. The billing office (coordinator) had called insurance and they originally told her it was not covered, so she cancelled the surgery and told us it was not happening. I called and told her she was wrong and needed to call back and she told me that was not going to happen. I hung up and took care of the issue with the insurance company. I then called her back and she was still did not want to work with me or the insurance company. I do not know how any hospital (business) can continue to stay in business with standards that state the patient is not important and have no regard for making things right. We lost all faith in St. Lukes and went somewhere else that was more dependable. We could not have a surgery cancelled again that took so long to get scheduled.
Robin who checked me in was so so rude for no reason at all. Very negative, if you don’t hold eye contact with her she stops talking to you and moves on. She skipped over a whole document with me explaining me my rights just to be petty and then almost denied me service because I didn’t have enough money on me to pay. She needs to quit. What a horrible line of work for someone like that.
The Surgeon was great, but this is about Billing..They will ask for an amount that is larger than the actual charge before you even have the surgery. Then you find out from your insurance co. about the actual cost you should have payed is a lot lower than what St. Luke’s took from you. So they owe you and you may never get the difference back from St. Lukes Billing. It has been three months and I’m still trying to get my money back. They certainly aren’t “Saints” in the Billing Dept. at St. Luke’s .Far from it.
