I had a great experience! The techs were friendly and thorough. Dr. Lewis took the time to answer all my questions and explain each step of my eyelid surgery. Jennifer scheduled my surgery and made sure I was fully prepared for what to do the day of surgery and what to expect. On the day of surgery, everything went smoothly and my nurse, Beth, took excellent care of me. My eyelid is healing nicely and I don’t think anyone will even notice a scar! I highly recommend this clinic!

I have gone here since middle school (15 years). Dr. Ashford specialized in my condition (Nystagmus). He was phenomenal and always understood me and helped me tremendously. I came back after a few years as an adult now, but unfortunately, he has since retired. The experience without him was unsatisfactory. The lady that did my vision testing was rude and told me “stop shutting your eyes or I can’t do my job” “Buddy, you shouldn’t be driving or someone’s going to sue you.” In the rudest tone. It’s quote interesting to be treated this way, especially when their job is to help people see better, not tear them down for it. She obviously didn’t understand my nystagmus because she was testing my vision where I was not allowed to tilt my head. I HAVE to tilt my head to see, it’s literally what I was born with. So of course my vision is going to suck when forced to look straight in a locked position. It took my wife and I’s pleading for someone to re-test with the lenses that allow me to tilt and someone else came in (way nicer) and my vision ended up within the driving legal limit by a healthy margin. Actually better than it was 6 years earlier. The Doctor then came in to tell me they weren’t going to give me a prescription because he was going to send me to an optometrist instead and he never explained why. He was talking in circles and was not good at directing a conversation. It wasn’t too complicated medical talk because my wife, who is a 4th year medical school student was as lost as I was. Luckily the nice lady, slipped me my prescription earlier, otherwise I would’ve had to go to another place to do the exact same eye testing for no reason. It was such a confusing experience and I don’t think I’m ever going back. It’s sad how a place can change this much when one person leaves.

Upon arriving to the clinic my first instinct was that this place probably just care about numbers(money) and not quality of direct patient care due to the overcrowded waiting area. After waiting an hour past my appointment to be called to the back , my eyes were dilated and I was placed in second waiting area that was extremely crowded and small . (Literally was running out of seats for people to sit down )Seems to me if they are going to care about money they will have either more staff (providers )or a bigger waiting area . Moving along the place closes at 430 and by 4 o’clock I made it to a room finally to see the doctor but of course the visit was rushed . Overall I wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking more personal experience .

My experience has been very good with Dr.Mitchell. She and the front desk are very professional and friendly. Eyesight from the surgery works beautifully. I can see 100% better. The experience with the operations management needs improvement. Whoever is managing the scheduling leaves a lot to be desired. At Every appointment the waiting room is wall to wall people and for a simple follow up check up appointment, you can expect to be sitting waiting at least 1 hour and a half total. Maybe 5-15 minutes at the most is actually spent with you and another live person. So an additional “ in SIGHT “ you are left with is feeling of disrespect for you and your time. Either more staffing or more efficient handling of the scheduled appointments are needed. Thank you for this opportunity to share. Janet Thomas

I have been a patient of Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell at Eye Group in Madison, MS, for many years, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care she and her staff consistently provide. From routine annual eye exams to addressing unexpected issues like pink eye, Dr. Mitchell’s team has always delivered excellent service with professionalism and compassion. Recently, I underwent cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens (IOL) implants, and the experience was exceptional. Dr. Mitchell went above and beyond, conducting thorough testing and multiple consultations to ensure I received the best IOL to fit my specific eye conditions. She patiently answered all of my questions in a friendly, clear manner, making me feel comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. On the surgery days, Dr. Mitchell and her surgical team were outstanding. Their kindness, attention to detail, and high level of care made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and reassuring. The post-surgical follow-ups were equally impressive, with the staff ensuring my recovery progressed properly. I highly recommend Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell and her team at Eye Group for anyone seeking high-quality eye care. Whether you need a routine exam, treatment for an eye condition, or a more complex procedure like cataract surgery, you’ll be in excellent hands.
