Dr.Choi is an excellent doctor and is very conscientious of her patient's needs. She has played an instrumental role in eliminating lower back pain for me in the past years. More recently, she performed a steroid injection procedure in my neck. I truly appreciate her knowledge, professionalism and commitment to helping her patients! Dr. Choi is huge asset to Summit Orthopedics! I am very fortunate to have her and her team assist in my medical needs.

Dr Choi is an exceptional neurosurgeon. Her injections were a trial to test determine if ablations would be an effective treatment for my nerve pain. Results indicated that procedure would not be effective. I’m glad Dr Choi chose a trial test before she actually performed the ablation.

Doing a spinal steroid injection by Dr Choi and her staff, I found the the doctor and especially her assistants in the operating room were annoyed and put off by my questions. I wanted to know the name of the steroid being injected, the exact area in my spine where the injection was being injected, etc. They either didn’t respond or responded in a curt fashion. Very poor bedside manners and empathy for the patient. They were focused on efficiency and getting as many procedures completed in the shortest time. Also the blood pressure cuff used throughout the procedure was causing intense pain on my arm and I have a high tolerance for pain. I told them that the cuff was painful. Again the assistants treated this as an annoyance to them rather than a critical issue that required their immediate attention. They kept saying bear with it. I literally had to blurt out to them to take the damn cuff off before one of them readjusted the cuff tension which eliminated the pain. Why not do this the first time I communicated that it was very painful? smh. I have never experienced this lack of attention and empathy by medical professionals in my life. Shame on Summit for allowing these conditions and behavior to exist. Summit can and must do better. Overall I cannot recommend this procedure at Summit based on my experience. And I had a spinal injection done by TCO in the past. No issues with TCO.

It was a good experience, for having minimal surgery, it was good. Wonderful staff, very caring and courteous. The only thing I would of preferred, is having a TV program to watch to distract my mind from the 2 hr. wait. There was a TV but it wasn't on and no one gave me the option and I feel it would help a patient's anxiety if they had something to distract them from impending procedure, no matter what it was.
