I strongly recommend choosing the Plymouth location over the Blaine surgical center based on my experiences undergoing the same procedure at both, six weeks apart. My first surgery at the Plymouth location was excellent. The post-operative care team was attentive, staying by my side as I came out of anesthesia. They provided a warm blanket, a water bottle, and delicious cookies—even offering more when I finished the first batch, as I hadn’t eaten all day. They brought my wife in promptly, thoroughly explained my medications, answered her questions, and provided a large ice pack and extra bandages for home care. Their kindness and professionalism made a stressful day much easier. In contrast, my experience at the Blaine location was deeply disappointing. While the reception and pre-op staff were friendly, the post-operative care was lacking. I was given only a small Dixie cup of warm water and met with reluctance when I asked for a refill. I experienced uncontrollable shivering, but my wife had to argue with the staff to get me a blanket. The team seemed eager to rush me out, leaving me feeling dismissed and uncared for. When I got home, I found adhesive patches—likely from monitors—still stuck to my skin, and I discovered another the next morning. My wife recorded the post-op instructions to review the medication schedule, but the staff’s dismissive and curt attitude toward her was disheartening. If you have the choice, I strongly advise opting for the Plymouth location over Blaine for a more compassionate and professional experience.
12/12/2022 great staff. Kept me up to date on time and what to expect before and after surgery. Thank you !!!
I had my bilateral carpal tunnel release surgery, both wrists, today,6/3/22. Blain Orthopedic Surgery Center's team was very nice and told me everything that was going to happen from the pre op room to the post op room. The nurses, the anesthesiologist dr, he was even cracking jokes and was trying to put me at ease. I think his name is Dr. Parker,to the or nurse and anesthesiologist nurse was very nice. Just everyone that interacted with was very nice and very helpful and informative.
Was very worried about my collarbone surgery and anesthesia couldn’t ask for better medical staff to guide me through and make me feel comfortable great overall experience, Thank you team
A lovely facility, but we did not have a good experience here. It appears that this facility suffers from poor management and inadequate staffing. Our experience for an Achilles’ tendon repair procedure: - no one at the check-in desk when we arrived - anesthesiologist gave a nerve block that did not take... no one checked this... we had to inform the doctor. - surgery schedule behind by over 2 hours - staff insisted on our leaving too soon— so they could close. (effects of anesthesia were obvious and made hopping on one foot extremely dangerous). They told us our choice was go home at that time or go to the hospital. I fault myself for not choosing the hospital. - No follow up call the next day to see how he was doing. Avoid this place until they get their act together.
