Was sent to to Dr.Albaran through my pcp. Was told from my pcp that I needed my gallbladder removed. Pcp said gallbladder sludge and multiple attacks alone, means it needs to be removed. Was in SEVERE pain and seen in multiple ER's who told me I needed to see a surgeon to get my gallbladder removed. Had gallbladder sludge multiple times and multiple gallbladder attacks. When I seen the surgeon, not once did he offer pain meds or nausea meds after I told him it was very extreme. I am vomiting almost every day. He ordered i did more testing. Once done, he said he wanted to wait 4 more months until I had another scan/procedure done and said he didn't want to remove my gallbladder. Even though my scan already showed my gallbladder was functioning on the slower end. I do not recommend coming here. He was very dismissive and not any help with anything at all. No plans for any other solutions, no help with pain or vomiting. Now I am going back to my pcp to see what needs to be done. It was a complete waste of my time.
My Mom went in thru ER on November 23rd for acute abdominal pain. CT Scan was ordered and showed a large Hiatal Hernia and Volvulus (here stomach was twisted and would not let food pass thru). Dr. Acho was consulted. He thoroughly explained her options in a way we could understand and answered all our questions. We proceed with surgery on 11/26. My Mom is 94 yrs old and came thru the surgery well. Dr. Acho was very professional and personable. He explained everything to us both before and after surgery and we couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Mom just had her follow up today and were thrilled, she is back to a regular diet and doing great. Dr. Acho is so caring and compassionate. I highly recommend! He also has a great support staff in the office as well.
I took my 23 yr old grandson through emergency at HF Macomb, Mi. He had had surgery in Columbus OH about a year ago, he had gotten an abdominal mesh wall. Somehow his stomach set up infection. He had to have surgery right away. Dr. Acho was very detailed and thorough as to what he was going to do. He also warned me that he may come out of surgery with a colostomy bag. The estimated time of the surgery was approx 2.5 to 3 hours. It took approx 4.5 hours. Dr. Acho explained to me that it was a very complex surgery. The surgery was a HUGE SUCCESS and the best part was that he didn't have to have a colostomy bag. Dr. Acho bedside manner was superb topnotch and he was very informative as to what to expect next. He stopped in daily at the hospital to check on him and to answer any questions that we had. Office visits went well. After such a long and complicated surgery, my grandson had gotten depressed and Dr. Acho noticed it right away when he walked into the room, and asked him did he want to speak to a therapist because his body had been through a very traumatic experience. My grandson declined and asked if he could provide Zoloft or something to help him to relax and sleep. Dr. Acho said no those meds are habit forming and he's not going to be the reason that he get hooked on antidepressants at such a young age. He said I'm not saying that you don't need them BUT NOT ON MY WATCH. THAT SPOKE VOLUME, that shows just how much he cares about his patients.Needless to say my grandson is doing fine and back to work. WE ARE SO VERY THANKFUL FOR DR. ACHO, (Sorry for the long post but Dr. Acho deserves a blue ribbon, and every accolades given here) If I could give 1000 Stars I would because Dr Acho is THE BEST and did an AMAZING JOB! Also I want to thank Ann at the Rochester Office, my grandson and I was scheduled to leave town the day after he was hospitalized. The airline needed proof that he wasn't able to fly, she immediately provided me with the documentation. Actually the entire staff was NICE AND PLEASANT, EVERYONE WAS GREAT, thank you Dr. Acho, Ann and the ENTIRE RGS OFFICE!!!!
I just had a Robotic Assisted Cholecystectomy Surgery on 6/12/25 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital by Dr. Johnson. I must say, I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and Rochester General Surgery to any of family members or friend needing care. Great office, friendly staff, and top notch care, which makes Rochester General Surgery a great surgical group providing great care to all their patients.
I had to have surgery on a huge (4cm) sebaceous cyst on my belly. My primary doctor recommended Dr. Albaran and Rochester General Surgery. I arrived for my pre op meeting and was greeted and checked in by an extremely professional and very personable lady. I didn't get her name but she was so pleasant that I called her "the smiling lady" she will know that I'm referring to her. Then I met Dr. Albanian. A very nice and extremely knowledgeable surgeon. He told me exactly what he was going to do and he did so about a week later. My surgery went perfectly and I am completely on the mend. He's terrific! But, I have to give a special shout out to a young woman named Kate. When I went back to the doctor's office for my follow up exam I waited perhaps 4 minutes and then in walked Kate. She introduced herself to me, explained that she was in the OR with me and examined the resulting scar. It was perfect of course but she was so personable that she talked me through the whole operation...more like a friend than a medical professional. She is awesome! I don't know if she is a nurse, or a nurse practitioner or a physicians assistant or even perhaps a doctor; but whatever she is title wise, she is fantastic in action. I highly recommend the facility and the people I have referenced.
