My appointment for my colonoscopy was at 11 o'clock. I was not called back until after quarter to 12. I had to wait for almost 1 hour before they actually took me in for the procedure - almost 1 o'clock. When I became awake I was told I could put on my clothes without any concern or suggestion that I may be dizzy when I stood up. As I was sitting on the edge of the bed the nurse says "OH. Look at you, you are up". I was not offered any crackers or anything to drink. When I walked out I was still uneasy on my feet but was not asked how I felt. My throat was parched, because of not getting any water resulting in a consistent sore throat throughout the next day. VERY POOR AFTER CARE!! VERY POOR AFTER CARE!

While most of these reviews are good I had an awful experience. Everything was fine until recovery. I was the last patient of the day and it was obvious that the staff was trying to get me out the door ASAP. My husband was trying to talk to the doctor and the nurse was interrupting wanting to talk to him at the same time. I was in recovery a total of less than 10 minutes and they turned off half the lights in the recovery room. They offered me a glass of water and hurried us to the door to leave. Very Unprofessional.

I have visited Charter Endoscopy Center multiple times for colonoscopies and endoscopies, and the overall process is consistently smooth. The staff, nurses, and anesthesiologist are exceptional—professional, attentive, and caring. Dr. Kaushal stands out for taking the time to discuss my concerns before the procedure and following up in the recovery room to explain findings and answer questions thoroughly. This level of care would justify a solid 5-star experience. However, one issue detracts from the patient experience. The IV catheters used at this facility lack a check valve (a backflow prevention mechanism), which results in blood leakage when the IV is inserted from the fitting where the saline hose eventually will be connected to. This creates an avoidable mess, increasing stress in a medical setting as the nurse must react and clean up the blood. At other facilities I've visited, IV catheters typically include this valve, preventing such issues. Research suggests that IV catheters with check valves cost approximately $0.50 more than those without. It's disappointing that this small cost appears to be prioritized over patient experience, especially considering the challenges patients already face preparing for these procedures. Addressing this would make an excellent experience even better.

Took my husband today for his colonoscopy and the process is very smooth at this facility. He really liked the friendly staff and how efficient the process is from check in to discharge. I have my colonoscopies at this facility as well as other family members. I recommend this facility for endoscopic procedures.

The overall experience was great. I was there on time they got me in right away even before my appointment time. I was nervous and they assured me it was going to be easy. The staff was friendly and very nice. I would recommend them all the time. Just overall a great place to go.
