Amazing clinical staff. The nurse(I think her name was Lauren) was just as sweet as could be. Everyone from reception to the anesthesiologist to the dr made me feel.very at ease before my procedure and explained everything very well. Can't say enough good things about this place!

Upon arrival at the UMass Endoscopy Center at 21 Eastern Ave., from the intake in the reception area to discharge, I was treated very well. Everyone was kind and took my stress and worry level from a pending panic attack to joking and laughing. The staff is fantastic at what they do and run like a well oiled machine but they never forget that you're a person first. You never feel like you're just a number. When I got into the procedure room, Dr. Houghton came in. She introduced herself, explained the procedure, how long it would take and what would happen throughout the whole thing. She also told me she'd be back in to explain any findings and followup afterwards. Again, my stress level was almost nothing because she and her team were funny and sincere. I felt like I was amongst family and that made me less anxious. After both procedures, Dr. Houghton came back in, explained what she found and what was done. Again, she calmed any concerns I had and told me exactly when she would call with any results. I left there feeling like I had the best care. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Houghton and have already told several of my friends and family members to go there if they need to schedule a visit with a great GI doctor. The staff and nurses at the 21 Eastern Ave location were nothing short of FANTASTIC!!!! Like the review before me, I'd go back tomorrow if I had to without an anxious bone in my body!

(Reviewed by Son of patient) My mother recently went for a scheduled upper + lower GI at UMass’ Eastern ave Endoscopy Center in Worcester, MA. Leading up to this procedure, she was extremely uncomfortable about going and thought about rescheduling (for a second time). Her anxiety stemmed from a similar procedure she had a few years back where she ‘awake’ for it and as a result, frightened her so much that she vowed to never have that done again. This time was different and the incredible staff at this clinic deserves the credit for that. I didn’t know what to expect when I came back to pick her up....this procedure is essentially a surgery and I wouldn’t have been shocked to see my elderly mom brought out in a wheelchair. To my surprise, a nurse accompanied my mom, as she walked out of the clinic full of life and in great spirits. According to my mom, the procedure went well and most importantly to her, her experience was one that didn’t leave her with any negative memories. She said to me, ‘I’d go back tomorrow if I had to’. Thank you UMass. Everyone from the Doctors to the Valet are in the business of making their patients comfortable during very personal situations. Keep up the great work! Respectfully, Your customer’s No.1 fan
