I felt from the moment the doctor walked in the room that he was doubting my pain, issue, and diagnosis. He started the conversation saying he does not prescribe habit forming pain medication. I had not asked for any medication. I take ibuprofen and Tylenol. When I told him I just wanted my neck fixed, my arm to stop going numb, my fingers to stop tingling constantly, and to be able to sleep. He said surgery was the absolute last thing he would consider. Mind you…. My mri shows a dis bulging, pushing on the cord, and a nerve. I have had a disc replacement previously that absolutely fixed the left side. Instead of fixing my neck “physical therapy” was ordered. (Not going to make a disc bulge go away) When that does not work injections in my neck was the second step. My feelings are the doctor wants to drag this out to get as much money as possible out of me or insurance, before actually fixing the issue. I’m switching to a different orthopedic/neurology practice, that does not treat you like you are seeking, and wants to help from the patient, not string them along
I am very happy with the treatment I have received at the Centers for Advanced Orthopedics, Dr. Wazen and his team were personable, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wazen to anyone that needed orthopedic surgery. Sierra was especially helpful helpful in the scheduling and administrative process prior to my surgery.
Everyone was very nice including the Dr. but the exam seemed short and really a waste of time. My BMI wasn’t were it needed to be for anesthesia. I don’t agree with that as I have surgery before with a higher BMI. I feel this policy is discriminatory, as heavy people have a right to live pain free. If I’m willing to take the risk than the Dr certainly should be also. The visit was very disappointing.
All of the staff is wonderful! Caring and constructive with my recovery. Very helpful with all of my concerns. Ms. Pam, front desk, is very thoughtful and organized with the scheduling and billing. I would recommend anyone that needs help to go to them.
From my phone call asking to see the Dr. the woman on the phone was great. Then the office personnel was fantastic. And the Dr, came it looked at my toe, said we can clean this up, back in less than a minute with what he needed, cleaned it up and explained the healing and gone. My kind of appointment. My wife is going to call his office for an appt. Highly recommend!
