I had a surgery on December 2, and everyone was just wonderful from start to finish…. From the front desk to the nurses( Michelle in particular) to the doctors( Dr. Warner and Dr. Sullivan), I HIGHLY recommend this location! Thank you for everything!

I'm generously giving three stars because the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and most of the nurses were great. But, there's always that one nurse with the bedside manner of a rusty screwdriver that adds to an already stressful and unpleasant experience by being unnecessarily loud and aggressive while trying to "help" the patient recover/wake up from anesthesia. My wife was clearly struggling to get her bearings, couldn't keep her eyes open, or bend her knees to scoot herself back to sit up straighter when this lady started barking orders at her to "come on, we gotta get you up, open your eyes, etc." The more my wife struggled, the louder this lady got as if her hearing was what was preventing an adequate response. This nurse also repeated at least three times that "they didn't do anything in surgery to make her feel this way." I'm not sure what she was insinuating by repeating that statement but what was painfully obvious to me and others in the space was that rather than compassion, her frustration was dictating her level of care for a patient. It became so obnoxious that my daughter, who was also there, asked the nurse to calm down and watch her tone and I chimed in telling her that it's like you're yelling at her, to which she predictably reacted defensively and ultimately removed herself. Another nurse stepped in to assist, was very kind and considerate, sought guidance from the anesthesiologist and surgeon, and finally got us discharged and on our way. All that was needed was a little more time for my wife to recover from the anesthesia. No amount of overbearing, verbal abuse could speed it up. I forgot to mention that it was this same nurse that stuck my wife three times during prep but couldn't find a vein for the IV, another nurse came in and took care of it on the first try. I'm always at a loss wondering how/why people who lack basic people skills and have very low tolerance when things don't go as they routinely would, end up in professions that by there very nature, explicitly require those traits...

I had surgery on my hammertoe yesterday and couldn’t have asked for a better (and quicker) experience. Everyone was kind, efficient and respectful. I felt very well taken care of. My insurance would not cover my procedure to be done at the hospital, but I was happy about that. I will need to have trigger thumb surgery done next, and I’m hoping to have it done here! Thank you to all of the staff for doing your jobs so well.

The facility is nice and the anesthesiologist on staff is the best I’ve ever experienced. She asked lots of questions to ensure I had the best experience with being under and that includes being nauseous afterwards. I wish I could recommend the nursing staff, but I cannot. They made over a half dozen attempts to get me an iv that worked and after the surgery they had my driver (not anyone who actually has authority for my medical directive) to sign a waiver on my behalf while I was unconscious and then poked at me a dozen more times in an attempt to draw blood because one of their nurses accidentally stuck herself with one of my needles and they wanted to make sure I had no blood diseases. If they had waited for me to come around, I would have told them that no I don’t have a blood disease and no they do not have permission to poke at me again. So as I was awakening I was being pierced again and again on my arms and legs and feet, because again, all the nurses there seem to need classes for phlebotomy, and it was very unpleasant. I remember as I was going down, the lead nurse's phone was going off in the operating room and she was distracted, asking another person to check what was being communicated while she was prepping me for surgery. I feel like that was highly unprofessional and I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this place to anyone based on these facts as much as I want to because of how much I liked the anesthesiologist.

I had shoulder surgery at The Monocacy Surgery Center just yesterday. I must say that my experience was above and beyond 5 stars! The receptionist at the front desk (didn't catch her name) had a great sense of humor and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Next, I met Molly who was my nurse and she was amazing and deserves a HUGE raise . I also remember meeting Susan and speaking with Angie. This was an extremely pleasant experience and I hope if I need any more surgeries in the future, it'll be here at The Monocacy Surgery Center. If I could give 10 stars I would!! Would highly recommend!!
