Has colonoscopy today. Dr Ahmed is a wonderful thorough gastroenterologist. I was an anesthesiologist with him for 15 years at a tertiary center as one of his anesthesiologists, so known he does a throrough, technically efficient and proficient exam. He does it right, and takes his time. I make the trek from Bethesda to see him in Frederick every 5 years for my colon. Picked up the Suflave at local grocery. Prep was…prep. GI wellness center is great. Front desk Ceira was quick with forms. Ushered back. Oliver fired in 22ga and I’ve had flu shots that hurt more. Kristen CRNA did well with my sedation, no recall (which I was expecting and can be normal). Woke up 30 min later and ready to go. PACU RN Bobbi was great. As an anesthesiologist who has worked tons off GI centers and tertiary hospitals, 10/10 would recommend and would do again. But hopefully not for 5-10 years!!
I came to bring my dad here for his colonoscopy (Dr Moustafa; who is great) but this office is horrendous. Staff speaks very loudly and obnoxiously, they were poking jokes at a lady who apparently had called saying she couldn’t afford the copay, they were saying things like “you couldn’t afford it now you can pay the cancellation fee”, “has she never had insurance before”, “she’s lucky we called her” it all just seemed so unsympathetic. They were talking about guys, boyfriends, etc very loudly, mind you it’s 9 am. My dad and I arrived at 9:07 for a 9:30 colonoscopy, he wasn’t even taken in until 10:16. However, they took a lady who wrote 9:45 as her appointment time in before my dad. He as per the procedure rules hasn’t eaten in over 30 hours, is on medication and starving and they can’t even relatively honor the appointment time?? a 15-30 min wait can be expected but not this long, and they don’t give any updates. long story short, please do your research and go anywhere else this is trashy, and piss poor service. Mind you, i wasn’t the only person irritated in the lobby, bonded with a few other guests about our irritation LOL
Had an EDG here and it was great! Check-in at the desk was super smooth. Jen (nurse) brought me back and got me situated with some help from another team member. I didn't catch their name, but they were both wonderful. Adam, Oliver and Dr. Ahmed conducted the procedure and they were equally amazing. Everyone was super friendly and everything went really well. Thank you, all!
The doctors and nurses were very kind and explained everything. However I was required to make a copay up front before the procedure. Since Medicare is my primary insurer and I also have a supplemental medical plan, I have never had a copay. When I called the center after my insurance plans had processed the claim, I spoke with a very rude young lady who told me my supplemental insurance would not cover the remainder of the charge. I’m still trying to get my money back.
Would randomly charge hundreds of dollars to my account. $1500 in total. When i called for a bill to justify the charges i was cursed at and hung up on. Only to receive random personal checks titled “refund” in small amounts. Before i went under the anesthesiologist told me she would put me down just enough where i could feel the pain but wouldnt be able to move or say anything. Super shady place and take legal action if youre a victim too.
