I had a wonderful experience today having surgery here. I was greeted with smiles that made me feel comfortable and safe! My nurse Emily with Dr.Dunshee was the best and most caring nurse I’ve ever seen. She went above and beyond to help make my experience even more special!

I had surgery in August 2025. Prior to having surgery I called and asked them how much it would be. I clearly told them I was shopping around .. she told me no problem that she could get me a price but it would take a few days because it had to go through pre-authorization. I was fine with that... She called me back about a week later and gave me the price. I paid it the day of surgery... Now MONTHS later... I get a bill for an additional 1k !!!! Are you kidding me! I am on a budget! How can health care facilities managed to get away with being such crooks. It's absolutely heartbreaking. My care was wonderful surgery went great but absolutely poor at best in the billing area .. much room for improvement.

My sweetie, Steve, and I have both had procedures at this location and we can say, hands down, that this is the BEST place to have a procedure done. This staff ENJOYS their jobs helping people before, during and after medical procedures! A special shout out to CAZEMBE (AKA C.J.) who has the IT factor! That’s the special ability to make someone feel 100% cared for and safe after being under anesthesia…. Chelsea was wonderful as well! If you need surgery, I highly recommend!! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

I have to drop a massive kudos here for my surgical team, both the pre-op and recovery nurses especially. My recovery nurse went above and beyond to help me become comfortable after my gallbladder removal procedure. I woke up in terrible pain, probably the worst I have ever experienced and I've had previous laparoscopic surgeries for endometriosis. Anyway, Kari, I believe was her name. Really made me feel less scared. She wiped away my tears and even held my hand a little bit. She ran out to contact the anesthesiologist to see what else we could do to ease my discomfort. I really can't praise her enough. While this was certainly a more traumatic surgery, KU Med really goes above and beyond. For that, I'm eternally grateful.

I cannot say enough good things about the facility, staff, nurses, and Dr. Tuba Esfandyari, MD. The entire experience (I was there for a screening colonoscopy) was excellent. I was greeted by a kind, efficient check-in staff; the aides and nurses were more than informative and caring. Dr. Esfandyari was informative, patient, and more than generous with her time explaining things before and after. I felt safe, received excellent care, and every single person with whom I interacted took wonderful care. Should you have a choice, insist on this location. I could not asked for better care. Thank you!
