This is the worst experience my daughter has ever had at a surgical center. She has to have a back ablation several times a year and has used many centers around New Albany and Louisville. She has a great doctor and has never had a problem We went to this center because it had the first opening now I know why. On the phone during her interview, we were told they do not do the same sedation that the other centers do, but everyone uses them and they are very good. When we got to the center to do her ablation, she was not given any sedation. During the procedure, she was in excruciating pain. The surgeon asked why she didn’t get sedation like always. She told him they said they did not give the same sedation there. Many of his patients have sedation there. She has neuropathy and always has to have the sedation. She came out in terrible pain, crying, and told me what had happened. I went up and asked why they did not give her the sedation. I always pay cash if needed. I was extremely upset. They called me into an office so that no one could hear me in the lobby called in the office manager who instead of apologizing said they did not give my daughter sedation because of her BMI, even though all the other centers in the area gives sedation that center does not because of her weight. And I was not going to raise my voice to her. They at no time told us this is why my daughter had to endure more pain. No respect for people. Note: According to US News Health, River Ridge has a longer than expected average length of stay post-operation and a higher than expected complication rate compared to similar facilities. •
I’ve had two surgeries at River Ridge Suites — one in March and one more recently in May. The care I received both times was excellent. My surgeon and the team were professional, kind, and made me feel at ease. The facility is clean and well-organized, and I would definitely choose to have surgery here again because of how smooth the process itself was. The biggest issue I had was with billing. I was required to pay upfront and meet my full deductible before surgery — which was over $1,000 — but my actual portion ended up being less than half of that. It took quite a while to get the bill corrected and the credit applied to my second surgery, which was frustrating. Great surgical experience overall, but I’d recommend staying on top of billing and asking for clarification early on to avoid delays or overpayment.
My experience at River Ridge was exceptional from start to finish. The receptionist who greeted me was so friendly and kind to everyone I heard her interact with. My nurses were professional, competent and friendly, Sydney was my main nurse and they all worked together to provide exemplary care. I was taken to the operating right on time and discharged in a timely manner. Thank you all- keep up the good work.
The staff was polite and the surgeon was good. My entire issue is with billing. Some time ago, surgery was needed. I contacted my insurance company and was told that the surgery was completely 100% covered with no copay or deductible. Upon arrival, we were told we needed to meet our entire deductible prior to operation. I tried my best to Inform them that they were wrong. We even called the insurance company with them to verify, yet we're still told that unless we paid the entire amount up front, there would be no surgery. Extortion? Our hands were tied so I put the entire amount on a charge card so the necessary surgery could move forward. It took less than 10 seconds for the transaction to go through. I contacted the Better Business Bureau expressing my dissatisfaction with their uncouth and unfair billing practices. A few weeks later I received confirmation from the insurance company that the entire bill was covered at 100% just as we were informed. I called the office and demanded my money be returned immediately. They said it may take up up 10 business days for my credit to show up. I told them it only took seconds to steal my money and demanded that my credit show up in the next 10 minutes or we would contact the BBB again. While in the phone with them I received the ping that I had been credited. Fast forward to last week. Another surgery needed and once again they wanted undue money up front. They didn't learn their lesson the first time. We definitely won't be back! While there I started reading the small print details they hope no one reads. It turns out that the surgeon may be the partial or entire owner of the center! Talk about double dipping. No wonder we were referred there as if we didn't have a choice when previously the exact same procedure was done at the Building where the surgeon has his office which is much closer and in state. Second it stated that we the patient have a say so as to where we want the surgery performed. Trust me when I say it will never be here again. And in a few days when my insurance company posts that it was covered at 100% again, rest assured I will be on the phone demanding my money be returned immediately or another complaint will go out to the BBB. DON'T GO HERE AND BE RIPPED OFF! We gave them first hand direct information and proof that we did not need to put down any money. Can you say greed???
Can’t express enough how well I was taken care of. The 4 out of 5 is because a great organization is always striving to be the best. So there never will be a 5 star rating. The staff was absolutely amazing. Easy to talk too was very attentive to my concerns and very informative to ease my concerns. The two nurses and the anesthesiologist were top notch. And that receptionist WOW. I arrived at 6:45 am. and was greeted with the biggest warming smile. I’ll choose this place again if I ever get outpatient treatment
