Dr Snedden is so very through & the only Optometrist I will go to. In 2007 during a routine eye exam, Dr Snedden didn't like what he was seeing. He asked me to come back the next day for a Field Vision test. I did and failed it miserably. He asked me to come back the NEXT day to see the Opthamologist. HIS exam told him I either had brain cancer OR I've had a Stroke. He wouldn't let me leave before the girls at the desk called and made me appointment for brain MRI & a Neurologist ro read it. End result: Turns out I had 2 strokes. (Didn't even know I had ). SO, as long as Dr. Snedden is @ Marion Eye Center, THAT is where I'll go for my eye health.

Erin was the best! She is very through and a friendly professional! Couldn't be more satisfied! And I was very satisfied with the help getting my new glasses picked out and ordered. Very smooth process! 😃

Horrible service from receptionist in surgery waiting area she is rude to patients listened to her makes calls rude on the phone with them. Have to wait in the lobby for extensive time periods past appointment times. Receptionist takes people out of order of arrival for appointments making the waiting period even worse. Don’t recommend having to deal with this lady Also if you need a prescription you have to call multiple times and days to even get this place to call in meds they require you to use. I would never go back here and I wasn’t even the patient just the driver of one observing from my seat

I would give this place zero stars if available. I've been coming here since the place opened. Yesterday, was the last straw. I recently got glasses here. Upon picking them up , I instantly knew I did not like the glasses. I was unable to exchange them due to "policy". I decided to return for a contact lens fitting. I checked in on arrival (15 minutes early). I made a point to let staff know I had been working a lot, over tired, etc that I was also required back to work that afternoon. After what seemed like hours (it was about 90 minutes), I asked the reception desk if maybe I had been skipped on accident? I was told no. Later someone finally came to me and asked my name. It appeared my Chart had been misplaced. At this point I am mildly irritated but undersnding. The staff definitely made me feel welcomed and apologized repeatedly for the delay. I was more than satisfied with the outcome. Now I was put in a doctor's room. I was there at least another 30 minutes. When the eye doctor entered the room she was instantly rude. She spoke to me in a very demeaning tone. I felt she was ridiculing me for being less than able to afford "appropriate " lens the last time I was here. She said I had "demanded the same prescription in both eyes" at my last contact lens exam. In fact i had asked if the prescription difference was great enough if it would make a big difference last time. A different doctor had allowed me to leave with contacts I said I couldn't see out of that year. I returned to wearing glasses until now . The new glasses I just picked up are also not sufficient for my needs. The docto continued to belittle me. I asked if I should leave. Her reply was "you don't have to". Give me a break . By far the most unprofessional doc I have dealt with ever. At some point I told her how she was making me feel. That did not help the situation. The doctor did nothing except leave the room. Return with lens that were of different rx. Asked if that would work. I had several questions. Her reply was it wasn't her job to answer the questions I had. It was only to administer the prescription. I asked, yet again, why she was being cruel and demeaning. The eye rolls and general attitude gave me little hope the issues would be resolved. So here I am, no contacts, glasses that do not work for my situation and honestly disgusted by my experience at Marion Eye Center in Mount Vernon Illinois. I will compliment the employees that went out of their way to make things right. So at 4:15 pm I'm seeking a new doctor.

All of the staff is so friendly and super accommodating. They are awesome. The doctors are really on top of their business. You get the good best of both worlds going here. Unfortunately, I must say they are not well equipped for handicapped patients who have low vision and/or almost blind. It’s very difficult to navigate getting in and out of the building impossible without a second person assisting. They need a button to hold the doors open.
