This place is in a gray area. It is not part of the attached hospital nor is it affiliated directly with my DULY provider who performed the general anesthesia surgery so it is difficult to say where the fault in my bad experience lies. Before I went into surgery, the staff loudly informed the anesthesiologist just as she was about to walk into my room that they were "out of fentanyl". I inquired about this and was told that she had "priority to get what was needed." I only mention this because when I was brought out of general anesthesia after my procedure I was in a tremendous amount of pain . So much so that the nurse asked me to stop making noise as I was wailing and grunting. Only then was I given something intravenously for the pain. Before it had even taken effect, I was asked if I could dress myself by the nurse and being prepped to leave. I very much feel like they had low stock of pain medication and did not prescribe it accordingly, which led me to be in severe pain after my procedure. They then provided me with medication and within 15 minutes, were trying to discharge me prematurely to save money. The OR nurse stated that my repair was larger than anticipated and one of the largest she had ever assisted on, yet I was not given additional recovery time nor did it feel like they accessed me prior to discharge, the clock was ticking. I wanted to leave this review to the facility itself but when I was sent the survey URL link to do so the site stated the survey had been completed already. If you choose to have your procedure done here be prepared to be treated like a piece of meat with a dollar sign around your neck with someone holding a stop watch because it sure felt like that to me.
Let me preface by saying everyone was very nice Pre-op....the nurses, anesthesiologist, etc. But once my surgery was done I felt like an unwanted vagrant. I had surgery at about 930am under general anesthesia. Surgery was over by 10:30am & they called my husband at 11am to come get me. My husband came to pick me up - I was on a chair leaning against the wall covered in blankets, shivering, with a vomit sack in my hand. I felt horrible. My husband told me he was shocked at how bad I looked & why wasn't I still in bed? He said I looked like the girl from the horror movie "The Ring" lol Nobody ever called to see how I'm doing from either the surgery center or the surgeon's office. This was my 9th surgery, btw. Very different than anything I've experienced in the past. I belong to a Gallbladder Surgery group & out of the hundreds of people I chat with, nobody was forced to leave so quickly after surgery. The average was 4 - 6 hours after, as long as no complications, all had Lap Chole like me. Time is money, I guess. I'm sure this is the way management wants things done & the care team is simply following the rules but I wouldn't go back here unless it was for a simple procedure under MAC. If you're having actual surgery under GA, have it in an actual hospital.
Surgery this morning here. I can't say enough praise for the Entire staff. I wish I wrote down all the names of my care team so I could thank them all individually. From the moment of check in with the upbeat receptionist, to my absolutely wonderful prep nurse, great anesthesiologist, OR nurse, Recovery nurse and Of Course my Amazing surgeon Dr. Guske..they all took time to genuinely care for me and make me as comfortable as possible. Thank you all..Amazing staff!!!
My dad recently had a cataract surgery here and believe me they have got the best medical equipments and a world-class staff full of empathy and kindness! I do not recall any of my past hospital visits where my family was treated and greeted well! They take care and treat their each patient so nicely and with full of heart! They also called us the day post surgery to check on my dad; but, unfortunately, we missed their call but did hear their voicemail! Thank you so much for everything you have done for us and we are forever grateful! The facility was very clean and organized. Shout out to Roselyn, Jeanette, Laura and Jamie and all the staff that facilitated the surgery procedure. I am deeply grateful to them for completing an exceptional surgery procedure. The whole staff is professional, welcoming, caring, supportive, patient-centric,… I can just keep on going!! 😄
My father had outpatient outpatient surgery and I must say that Diane at the front desk is just so thorough and helpful and kind and caring. I also want to say Martha who is one of the nurses just went so above and beyond to make sure you were informed and that my father had everything he could possibly need to make him as comfortable as possible. This kind of service is just so appreciated thank you thank you so much!
