Hospital policies are terrible here. They have you wait while patient is in pre-op for over 20 mins. Can’t go back until given the “ok” and only allows 1 visitor back. Very rude staff with little explanation.

I would have rated the Surgery Center 5 stars but thanks to the billing department that is as high as I can rate. Clinical team is great! Billing department is terrible great at collecting money but that is about it. I have been trying to get a refund for the copay they collected AFTER being advised that we had met our deductible. They went as far as threatening to cancel my son’s surgery if I did not pay my portion. Come March 2025 I will be waiting a year for a $200 refund. I have received confirmation that the credit is sitting in my son’s account with nothing done after. Billing department is driving patients away!!

My daughter got tubes put in her ears. There was 0 complications and the procedure lasted less than 30 minutes total. They knew what needed to be done ahead of time and they knew our insurance ahead of time. We had to pay $1,100 on the day of the procedure. They billed my insurance close to $5k and then we got hit with a surprise $400 bill 6 months later. Healthcare in this country is such a joke.

Had a surgery here, everything went ok with that. But dealing with billing after the fact is a mess. The billing dept phone number on my statement is different from the one on this surgery center's website, and both seem to forward to the same separate line which nobody answers. Called the surgery center's line, and option #2 again forwards to the same line as the two above. Talked to a receptionist at the surgery center, who then gave me a fourth number to try, which at least seemed to connect to a different place, but still couldn't get ahold of anyone. The web payment portal only offers the option to make a payment but not to see any balance information. Pretty annoying.

Had outpatient surgery done this morning and between the check in/registration staff, all the nurses, anesthesiologist, Dr, pretty much every individual I spoke with. They were so friendly, caring and compassionate. Each and every single individual took their time with me to explain everything. As a staff member of Edward-Elmhurst this has been my best experience ever with having surgery and I’ve had a few of them at Edward. My first one with the surgery center.
