My wife and I needed new frames to go along with the new prescription we recently were issued by Dr. Sobin. We were so lucky to have as our optical tech Katie to guide us through the selection process and then the insurance details at payment time To say that Katie was thorough, conscientious, professional, and kind, would be very true understating how truly fabulous she was with us. She was wonderful very easy to work with very patient and very understanding of not only the product but the process to get our new frames ordered. Thank you Gailey as always for not only for a tremendous optometrist in the form of Dr. Sobin, but also the tremendous Front office crew and supporting technicians that get us ready to see him. What a great experience thank you!!!
On August 14, 2025, I called Gailey Eye Clinic and encountered some challenges with the receptionist. When I mentioned that I had insurance, she quickly responded, "We don't take Medicaid," before I could provide any further details about my plan. I believe it’s important for businesses to avoid making assumptions about a prospective or current customer’s economic state. My experience with the frontline staff was disappointing, I hope the team behind the initial contact is more customer-oriented and respectful. Constructive interactions can lead to a more positive experience for everyone involved. As a result of this encounter, I do not intend to call back or enter their establishment to seek services from Gailey Eye Clinic. For clarification, I do not currently utilize our state’s Medicaid services, but I would consider doing so if the need arose. Update on 9.14.25: (Hmmm) I did not schedule an appointment with Gailey, however, I received a text notification on 9.12.25 indicating I have an appointment on 9.18.25. I did not schedule the appointment therefore, I will not cancel the appointment.
We arrived early for my husband's 10:00 appointment but the parking lot was full (probably employees). We finally drove to the back of the building to park there. We found out we were not allowed to walk through the building to the front where we needed to be. The physical walk around the outside of the building (with only partial sidewalk and the rest grass) was not easy for my husband and his cane. We sat in the waiting room for a long time and I even heard others tell the receptionist they had 10:00 appointments with the same doctor we did. After shuffling us to another waiting room to wait longer, we weren't called to see the doctor until 11:24. We won't be back nor would we be recommending this business.
Called a month ago to make appointment and to verify they accept my insurance, gave insurance info and was told they accept Aetna. Arrived at appointed time and had to fill out form claiming i would pay for all services and that they could be costly. My son went to desk to discuss that form and the lady claimed that they do not accept my insurance for anything but eye exam. Then the receptionist yells out "you are diabetic, aren't you?" I was shocked. You are not supposed to shout out medical issues to any and everyone. Where is the training for privacy and HIPPA laws? I was embarrassed and felt attacked. Will not ever recommend this eye clinic
Think twice before you give them your money! My 90 year old father is still waiting for his glasses even after almost 6 weeks!!! We have been told numerous times it’s not their fault it’s the lab. We have been told they should be here a certain day and nothing.. no call..no alternative solution was offered.
