I have updated my review for the Surgery Center. Due to the poor performance of an employee that is no longer employed there my first review was 1 star. I was later contacted by the Surgery Center and I gave them a second chance. I’m glad that I did, they were very professional and my Surgeon Dr. Dunlavy did a great job and I am very happy with the results and would recommend them with confidence.
I was so nervous for my surgery but I had a WONDERFUL surgery team who helped me keep calm before my surgery and explained the whole process. Dr. Callahan explained what we were doing. I lost my folder of the names I had for all who helped me but everyone was amazing and so kind and helped me have a good and anxiety freeing experience
I was pretty darn nervous leading up to my surgery after seeing so many terrible reviews, however, I had a wonderful experience at the surgery center. They called the day before with all the details of my appointment and answered all my questions. My main nurse Suzanna was the sweetest lady ever. Nurse Carol also jumped into help by getting my IV set up and she was efficient and a fun lady to boot. The anesthesiologist was patient with me and responded to all my concerns about pain management techniques and medications while breastfeeding. Thank you all for your wonderful care.
My nephews fiance was having surgery today and they forgot to call the day before to tell her what time her surgery was and that was the start of it. She called at 8 am day of surgery and they told her check in time would be 10 am surgery would be about 30 minutes and recovery 45. So I dropped her off and after 2.5 hours of not getting a call to pick up I came down. The older receptionist was rude about the fact it takes 3 hours to talk to the dr and nurse before a surgery can take place. I have had approximately 10 surgeries and never had to wait this long nor had this kind of lack of communication. I don't know anything about the dr but as usual definitely not impressed with St Lukes nor the Receptionist they employ to provide information to families about their loved ones status. I would say do better but we know they just keep getting worse.
I was told it could take up to 2 weeks to schedule a surgery. Lame but OK. I got a call 10 days after my doctor’s appointment just to tell me they have my paperwork. It takes 10 days to get paperwork from one office to another? And now i’m told it could be an additional 3 weeks before they can even schedule me. So five weeks to even schedule an appointment on a surgery that could be up to two months further out. That’s over three months. Maybe during Covid this might make sense but what is the problem now.
