I recently had surgery. The whole team was excellent and so kind to me. I came in with a lot of pain and they were so helpful and took the time to get to know me and talk me through everything. And after surgery I woke up feeling wonderful and no longer in pain. I wish I could remember everyone's name so I could give them credit. I would 100% recommend for any surgical needs. Thank you for the amazing experience
The staff treated me very poorly. I have had 2 sections and a laprascopic prodecure in the past. I am not new to surgery however I am new to being treated like a drug addict and not receiving any pain medication after surgery, especially when its my Abdominal wall being cut into and stitched up.... Literally was put under anesthesia, they performed the surgery and sent me to recovery. I woke up in the most excruciating pain ive ever experienced in my life and instantly started crying. Gene (the only nurse who actually had empathy for me) faught for me to get paid meds and eventually the pain was able to be bearable after an hour and a half. Relief was only momentary though as I woke up at 1:15 and by 3pm the pain was tolerable to where I was not in horrific pain. Only for Gene to be replaced due to shift change, I am still in tears at this point but hey atleast it wasnt as bad when I first woke up and I could articulate an actual sentence. This was legit the worst pain I've felt in memory. My c-sections didn't even hurt this badly and i was up and walking about 6 hours after those being cut hip to hip... Well new nurse comes on shift and tells me "you need to get up and walk, the co2 is whats causing your pain not the actual surgery" she was very rough when she went to move my bed up she moved it down very quickly causing me to tense up and my core to constrict didnt apologize just said "these hospital beds are old and that can happen". I told her it hurt and to stop that I needed a second but she just kept going up and told me to get in the chair next to me and just kept reiterating that getting up and moving will take away the pain. So I did, only for her to see the constant stream of tears running down my face as I was walking around the recovery unit and her then realizing I was in actual pain and had me go sit in a wheelchair...They tried to sending me home with freaking tramadol which is basically a high powered Tylenol with no actual pain reliever, its what they give to drug seekers. And mind you I do not tolerate pain meds at all and only took 3 after my c-sections before tossing the rest...but ky pain was managed properly when coming out of surgery so it was not really needed. I am not a drug seeker at all!!! Which I informed them that I was actually apart of Law Enforcement so yeah 100% nope on that one... They didn't even stitch my incision sites just glued them and they already came open at home... Do not recommend Kootenai Health at all. Make the drive to Sacred!
Dr Heidi Jackson removed my wife's gallbladder. She was very kind and did a great job. Also, our nurse was fantastic, as was the admin staff. Would not recommend needing the surgery, but if you do Dr Jackson and her team will take good care of you.
I went in for surgery today and felt compelled to write a review after my experience. At check in I was greeted by a very friendly helpful lady who was very efficient. After check in I waited maybe 5 minutes and was then taken back by my nurse Tina. I can not say enough about this RN. She was friendly, fun, very gentle and explained everything to me very well. I was taken care of by several other very nice people in pre op and haven’t a single complaint! After my procedure I was awoken by the soft voice of my post op nurse Kiki. She was also super friendly and made sure all my needs were met, BEFORE I needed them! I was blown away with how wonderful my experience was! If I ever need outpatient surgery again I will ONLY go to KOS! Thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome and making this completely stress free for me!
My letter to Susan Frankenberg, Clinical Manager, today 9/26/18 Dear Susan, My entire experience felt more like a spa experience than going in for surgery! Last Thursday, September 20th. Due to your amazingly compassionate upbeat fun and capable team, I experienced far more comfort - mind body and soul than discomfort. Plus your facility at Kootenai Outpatient Surgery is so pleasant, clean and comfy. Especially loved your fluffy warm air flow comforter! Really glad I chose to take Dr Keese's advice for the bracioplexis block. Was so relieved I did get to go out but with zero side effects afterward except for feeling like I was carrying around a dead body arm for a day or so. Your anesthesiologist team absolutely stellar. And post op nurse Laurie precious. Wish I could rember everybody's name to thank personally but they were all above and beyond expectations. Best regards, Shirley Blackwell, LMT Back in Touch Massage & Bodywork
