I cannot say enough about Southern Pain and Spine in Atlanta. Dr. Callaway is exceptionally knowledgeable, particularly when it comes to complex genetic illnesses with comorbidities. As someone with a complicated medical history, including multiple neurosurgeries and vascular procedures, it is rare to find a physician who truly understands how interconnected these conditions are. Dr. Callaway does. Cameron and Stephanie are extraordinary. They have shown me consistent compassion, professionalism, and humanity through some of the most difficult chapters of my life — including multiple surgeries and the loss of my full-term son. They did not treat me like a chart or a case. They treated me like a person. This team genuinely cares about their patients. They listen, they advocate, and they approach complex pain management with both intelligence and empathy. If you are dealing with complicated medical conditions and need a practice that understands the full picture, Southern Pain and Spine is a rare and remarkable place.
I have been a lot of places and thus far I really feel like Dr. Nate hears and sees me as a person who is affected by pain rather than the other way around where people treat us like less than people and even lesser than street addicts. I have 2 Neurostimulators, take every advantage of homeopathy opportunities available and literally do my research and discuss everything with my team and even with all that and the tremendous amount of respect they give me I still feel I have to prove myself. That’s the conditioning of years of poor professional providers versus the amount of patience and care Dr. Nate gives each and every time. And Stephanie Stagner too his NP. If you have to wait to see them it’s because they are honestly worth the wait. I feel seen and sometimes even though you still have the pain, that little bit of being heard and seen makes it just so much more tolerable.
I just had my epidural yesterday, 12/23, and I began to feel better before I left. I love this location and the staff. It feels great to wake up without pain! Merry Christmas to the staff and, of course, the wonderful irreplaceable Dr. Duralde!
The experience was perfect. Dr. Pleasant and his staff explained what was going to take place, and I felt no more than a “bee sting,” as he said would. The experience was good, and I almost felt immediate relief. That relief lasted all day and even into today (still feeling almost no pain ), and I’d say I was 90% better.
I've been seeing Dr Callaway for a few years now and he's wonderful. Very Thorough, he listens and takes his time with you. The staff is also wonderful. The nurse practitioner Cameron is wonderful also. They all genuinely care about their patients. Highly recommend.
