I would like to leave this negative review specifically for Dr. Frank Bono D.O. from BioSpine in Tampa. Yesterday, I had my second follow-up appointment with Dr. Frank Bono D.O., and it was the worst experience of my life. In my 58 years, no one has ever made me feel as humiliated and discriminated against as Dr. Frank Bono D.O. did yesterday. Yesterday, Dr. Frank Bono D.O. entered the examination room for my follow-up visit, and abruptly, with gestures of disgust and contempt towards me because of the scent of my perfume, claiming an allergy of which I had never been informed, he ordered the door opened and violently left the room, without giving me any explanation for what had happened. This unprofessional behavior is unacceptable and made me feel despised and humiliated. It is also worth noting that during my first visit, this doctor, who is a specialist, saw me for less than two minutes.
Outstanding experience from start to finish. The Tampa Biospine surgeon and medical team were professional, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. My Laminectomy back surgery was very successful, and the results have greatly improved my quality of life. The Tampa Surgical staff as well made me feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the entire process. I highly recommend the Tampa Biospine team.
My husb had a cervical disc replaced 7 years ago by Dr Frank Bono. It was a fast recovery with no long term side effects. Highly recommend!
Horrible. I read the other bad reviews and should have listened. I spent thousands of dollars in an attempt to get PRP injections for a spinal cord injury. They said yes at the first appointment, just wanted an MRI done. After that they had me wait an hour at the next appointment and tried to upsell me on surgery. I told them if I was going to get surgery I would get it at the VA where I was covered. They told me to think about it and if not we can still do the PRP. It's now been 4 months and every time I call they give me some excuse on why they can't quote me for PRP or even set up an appointment. Recently they started sending me more bills for varying amounts. It’s $50 here $130 there. Non stop emails and physical mail. They’ve been paid so I don’t know where this is coming from months later. I wouldn’t trust them with anything, let alone my physical health. It’s crazy that these healthcare facilities can just make up charges whenever they want. I want to be clear, the medical side was nice and the staff was awesome, the problem lies in their accounting and billing departments.
This is my second review. I had a laminectomy in 2016 that was fine. Then I had a spinal fusion a few years ago (2021 I think). The surgery itself was fine and I was treated well at the surgery center. But I had serious pain on one side for months after the surgery. Lacking any diagnosis, I decided to have the right side hardware removed, hoping that would work. (That was done by another spine surgeon at a hospital due to insurance requirements.) That did not help. I went back and saw the PA at Biospine a couple of times, but the only thing they could offer was a spinal stimulator for pain, which required 2 surgeries and no guarantees. I did not want that. So I went to a few other spine specialists, and no one could figure out why I am having such pain still, 4 years later. I had multiple MRIs and diagnostic tests. I tried to see the doctor a few months ago, but they wanted me to see the PA before they would let me see the doctor, and then they ended up canceling my appointment for some office reason, they said. I did not reschedule. I gave up. At this time I just exercise every morning to get through the initial pain, and I manage to get through the day. I can walk, but a new pain has developed in a different area of my spine, apparently due to the scoliosis that developed after the fusion, and there is no cure. So beware of 1) what vertebral fusion really does to your spine, and 2) no one really cares.
