I want to share my experience as an out-of-state patient involving Dr. Matheus and the Center for Endoscopy, so others can make an informed decision. I traveled from Texas to Florida in May for a procedure to treat external hemorrhoids. I do not have health insurance, so everything was paid entirely out of pocket. Between Dr. Matheus, Florida Digestive Health Specialists, and the Center for Endoscopy, I paid well over $1,750, not including airfare, hotel, or transportation costs. The procedure was performed at the Center for Endoscopy, but the results were extremely disappointing. After surgery, the original issue was not resolved. The hemorrhoids remained, became more swollen, and the pain I experienced afterward was significantly worse than what I had prior to the procedure. These complications lasted more than a month. During that time, I made repeated attempts to contact both Dr. Matheus’ office and the Center for Endoscopy for follow-up guidance. I left multiple messages and made numerous phone calls, yet received no meaningful response. When Dr. Matheus eventually reached out, approximately six weeks later, the interaction was unproductive. She was dismissive, defensive, and offered no plan for follow-up care. She stated she would call me back but never did. After that, all further attempts to reach the office and the Center for Endoscopy went unanswered. For clarity, I was not seeking a refund. I was simply trying to get help whether medication, evaluation, or corrective treatment. Instead, seven months later, I unexpectedly received an additional bill for $678 from the Center for Endoscopy, with no explanation and no way to speak with anyone about why it was issued. This experience was painful, stressful, and deeply discouraging. I felt completely abandoned after payment was made. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution when dealing with the Center for Endoscopy and this provider, especially if you are traveling from out of state or paying cash.

100% satisfied with all aspects of my procedure today. Staff was courteous, kind, caring, very friendly, and professional. I wish I could remember everyone’s name for a proper shoutout of thanks but Nancy and I believe Ashley along with Dr. Andari, THANK YOU. Facility was clean, well organized and my care exceeded all expectations. Thanks to all the staff that I had contact with. DL

I have tremendous anxiety with medical issues. The team could not have been better. Norma (I think? apologize for not remembering names).. the nurse who got me ready was wonderful. The anesthetist was also terrific, her skill and caring manner helped ease my anxiety. Everyone was professional, skilled, and caring. Thank you very much. I am sorry that you likely could not tell how much I appreciated how nice you were to me. The experience is helping me work through my medical anxiety. Thanks, Dr. Andari and the Center for Endoscopy team!

So sorry if I can’t remember anyone’s names or miss anyone, but I had such a great experience. My doctor was Dr. Matheus, and I believe Ashley was my preop nurse, I also believe Trish and Jamie and the lovely pacu nurse with pretty purple scrubs (blame the anesthesia for not remembering). Everyone was so kind and took their time with me, calmed my nerves and made the whole experience so much nicer than I could have thought. Hopefully I won’t have to come back but I completely recommend this office! Thank you ladies for all you do!
