I have been there three separate times over the past six months to get steroid epidurals for sciatica. From the front desk to the operating room, everyone is wonderful. The place is always bustling and busy, but everyone has a smile on their face and treat you like you’re the only person there that needs their attention. If you were in need of outpatient surgery, I would highly recommend Smart Care, Palm Harbor.

Sorry, but you need more seating in the lobby. If average wait to be called for procedure is 1 hour to 2 hours you need to provide seating especially when most out patient surgeries are for knees and hips. no seats. I asked if I could sit in car and was told no. 2 hr wait. (might have been bad day) but appts are spread 30 min apart and with no coffee and 2pm call up....yikes wasn't happy. but thank God they do a good job on the body.

Excellent care for my cervical injections from the entire staff at Smartcare Palm Harbor. The check in was easy and efficient. The nursing staff and anesthesiologist taking care of me pre and post surgery were absolutely amazing. Dr. Zahrai is an incredible surgeon. I will be going back for two more procedures. He is caring and wants to find the best treatment to fix my neck issues. . I highly recommend Dr. Zahrai and the team at Smartcare.

Being given a time to be at a surgical center, arriving on time and waiting at this point almost 2 hrs in the lobby, before even going up is extremely poor scheduling on this surgical site. Then once I get upstairs exactly how long will that be? Hopefully they are more efficient at their job than the facility scheduler! After upstairs everything went alot better. Staff in the surgical portion of the facility was attentive, friendly and patient. Won't edit, we all know things happen. When they do, it would be a nice to communicate to the many people waiting in the lobby. No communication for 2 hours is unacceptable.

Our biggest concern was the post-operative care. My family member had a mild adverse reaction to anesthesia—she became cold, pale, clammy, and lightly sweating, with a drop in blood pressure. Her medical records note a history of anesthesia-related issues tied to potassium levels. At home, when her potassium levels drop, she recovers with protein and Gatorade. The nurse was kind and attentive, but informed my mother that they did not have oj, IV potassium or Gatorade on hand. She offered to leave the building to buy Gatorade, but I didn’t want her to leave my mother’s side. It was unsettling that the facility wasn’t equipped to manage a known and relatively manageable complication. Fortunately, once she had Gatorade, she stabilized and was discharged. The waiting room was also lacking—only about 10 chairs, no tables, no coffee, and just a water fountain. It was packed - people had to wait in their cars. The chairs are directly outside the restroom door, which felt awkward and cramped. While the staff was polite and the nurse was good, the facility seems poorly run. I wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing a loved one back here again.
