In 2016, while serving in the Navy, I tore my ACL. Being young and hard-headed at the time, I chose not to have surgery. After a while, my knee felt manageable, and I simply pushed through life. Years later, in July 2025, the pain returned and it became clear my ACL was no longer functional. I contacted the VA and was referred to Ortho Collier. After reviewing Dr. Havig’s credentials and doing my own research, I knew immediately he was the surgeon I wanted. I was tired of dealing with chronic pain and waiting, and with a possible move coming up, I didn’t want anyone else performing the surgery. I ultimately had my procedure at Physicians Day Surgery Center, as referred by the VA. In October 2025, Dr. Havig and his team performed an ACL reconstruction using a hamstring graft along with a partial meniscectomy. From the moment I walked into the building to the time I was wheeled out, the entire process took about two hours. Despite being groggy and expecting pain once the nerve block wore off, I was surprised to feel virtually none. While everyone’s recovery is different, I truly believe the skill of Dr. Havig and his team played a major role in my outcome. I had seen countless horror stories online about this surgery, which understandably made me nervous, but my experience was anything but. Even my incision sites healed beautifully and are now barely visible. I am currently continuing physical therapy through a VA-approved provider and have seen excellent results so far, which I credit largely to the quality of the surgery itself. I am also planning to complete my physical therapy at the Ortho Collier Pine Ridge facility. At two months post-op, my knee feels strong, stable, and continues to improve every day. This was my first surgery and my first experience under anesthesia, and the entire staff made me feel safe, respected, and understood. From the front desk receptionist, to the surgical staff, to the anesthesiologist, everyone was kind, caring, and professional. Hopefully I won’t ever need another surgery, but if I do, I know exactly who I’ll call. Thank you to Dr. Havig and his team for giving me back a knee that I lost in 2016. The first photo that I have added was from the day I left the surgery center. The second photo was a few days after surgery, when I was able to shower. And the last photo I added is my knee today.

Thank you to all the staff for their part . Dr. Blau did my procedure. He was efficient and professional. They were running late about an hour. Some surgery had backed them up earlier. That was over and they made up for it.

I had a procedure done at this location. I was quite impressed with the whole staff that includes the pre-procedure and post procedure. Nurses, Erika and Jasmine were outstanding. Dr Brooks and Dr Blau explained the procedures very well and thank them both for their good services.

The staff is phenomenal. The lady with a tint of purple in her hair, was extremely professional, efficient, and friendly. Erica the RN was knowledgeable, kind, efficient and funny. Dr. Brooks the anesthesiologist was very thorough and kind. Kudos to all of them. Other medical facilities should follow their lead.

We recently had our 6-year-old son’s surgery at this center, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible care we received. From the moment we walked in, every member of the staff was friendly, compassionate, and truly amazing. As a parent, I was understandably nervous since it was his first surgery, but they made me feel completely at ease and, most importantly, made me feel like my son was safe and in excellent hands. Everything ran right on schedule, and the facility was spotless, which added to my peace of mind. Dr. Magardino, our surgeon, was outstanding—professional, kind, and clearly experienced. The day after the procedure, we even received a follow-up call to check on how our son was doing, which meant a lot. This center exceeded our expectations in every way. I would highly recommend it to any parent facing a similar situation. Thank you for taking such great care of our little one!
