I had a knee replacement surgery scheduled and completed at this facility. Starting with my first contact, the receptionist, and ending with the PT tech who watched me walk before I could leave, it was a first class experience from start to finish. The nurses, doctors, and everyone else on staff made a very stressful situation into something painless as possible for me, the patient. They treated me like I was an old friend, not a name on a clipboard who was up next for surgery. I would highly recommend the Melbourne Surgery Center.
The scheduler here I will leave her name anonymous has been nothing but nasty and rude for every phone call and not helpful in the least. I’m not sure she even attempts to help she told me I had the wrong thing done and I told her no I haven’t . I’ve called to update her when and where I’ve had things done. She gives me nasty responses. She also told me 2 days before they not my dr is requiring another test even though I’ve been cleared by every other Dr. will update review when I go for surgery and will see how the rest of the staff is. I have been nothing but pleasant and helping and doing all I can to make sure this surgery happens like it’s scheduled. But having someone nasty as your first point of contact is definitely a red flag for me. Ok so here’s the update the nurses and front reception were nothing but spectacular. Prompt and nothing but helpful and kind. They the entire process easy. 10/10 recommend this place as long as you can get past the nasty receptionist.
I had surgery about a week ago and wow!! Every single person, from the front office staff, the phone calls for pre-op to the nurses and anesthesiologist and to the ENT himself all did a wonderful job taking care of me and making sure I was comfortable before surgery and after surgery even when I was having a hard time waking up they kept an eye on me making sure I was alright until I was cleared to go home, I truly appreciate that they care so much about the patients and they don’t try to rush you out of there even though I know they probably deal with hundreds or more patients a day but they still make sure that you are well enough before they discharge you, one nurse realized I was pale and made sure that it wasn’t something serious. I don’t remember everyone but thank you to Amber &Isa/Jade in the recovery, Peggy the OR RN, Tiffany the scrubs tech and Gina and Maddie with the preop move and every single other medical professional and doctors and nurses and and anesthesiologist in there thank you for all that you do and doing courtesy calls!! I appreciate everyone one of you!!
This is a first class facility. The staff were the key. Everyone I encountered were friendly, kind and knowledgeable. Maddie, Gina and Marie were terrific as well as Jen in PACU. OR staff did a great job assuring my comfort while having local anesthesia only. I will not hesitate to return for my next surgery.
I’ve had multiple bad experiences at Melbourne Surgery Center and feel others should be aware before choosing this facility. The front office staff is consistently rude and unprofessional. There’s something “off” about the entire team and the overall environment. On both of my visits, the nurses failed miserably when trying to put an IV into my arm. They stuck me in the same spot over and over, pulling the needle in and out, until someone else had to take over. To make things worse, one nurse literally said, “Oh, I left my brain at home today” right before she tried to stick me. That’s not something you want to hear from the person about to put a needle in your arm. The wait times are extremely long, often hours, and the doctors usually show up two hours late or more. Even staff members from other offices who come here mention how bad the work environment is and how much they dislike being there. I was scheduled for two surgeries. While they went through the motions, the main part of one surgery was aborted — leaving me still dealing with the same health issues. So, I paid a huge amount of money for nothing. Overall, this has been an awful experience on multiple levels: rude front office, careless nurses, long waits, late doctors, and ultimately unsuccessful surgeries. I cannot recommend Melbourne Surgery Center to anyone
