All was good except for the IV jab. They missed 4 times with 2 different nurses, and said it was due to "rolling veins", an apparently "rare" condition. It's very common especially in older patients (as I am). I Googled rolling veins and found the answers including techniques for securing a rolling vein. I suggest the phlebotomists take a look. Missing an IV jab is very painful and nerve tracking for the patient. It's a cop-out for a medical professional to blame rolling veins. Other than that no complaints - I would recommend this surgery centers to others.
I went here to get a cyst removed from my knee. Which didn't require anesthesia to do this operation so I didn't have to stop taking any medicine or refrain from food and drink. I was told they would tell me the arrival time the day before which they called me and said arrival time was 6am, surgery 7am. I got there 615 or so and that was fine. Filled out paperwork and was called back soon after. Had to take off jewelry and put on socks and gown plus hairnet. There's a nurse named James that stayed with me the whole time. He was the best part about the experience and reason I felt calm even when I was getting really anxious during the operation (remember I was awake during this so the doctor is cutting and all that while I'm totally aware he's cutting into my knee) there was a numbing injection/local anesthetic but if there's a place where I could feel it, I would have to tell them I could. At one point I could start to feel it which is when they stopped. Really amazing staff all of them were friendly and helpful. It couldn't have gone better. I drive myself home and they called me the next morning to check on me. If you have to go here for an operation don't worry you're in good hands. Oh and it was about 400 dollars co insurance 20% on an Aetna HSA plan. I know everyone is different but that's around what I had to pay. Hope this helps someone!
The care at this facility is unlike anything that I’ve been exposed to before. Literally every person that I dealt with was upbeat, kind, and compassionate. This is my second hip replacement surgery, having done one on the other hip three years ago in NY. Both were great experiences, but this facility is second to none, mostly because of the staff.
This place is great as a surgery center but BEWARE that their outsourced billing company SUCKS. I had surgery 4/9/25 and overpaid by $800. I am STILL waiting for that money, seven months later. I have had to enlist Cigna to speak on my behalf for this refund, and even their representatives agree that this outsourced billing agency is HORRIBLE.
I was so impressed with all the staff. They were very caring and worked so well together as a team. Noone wants to have surgery, but if you need it, Advanced surgical care of Viera is the place to go. From the front desk staff to the nursing staff, Dr. Palsis and Anesthesiologist Dr. Williams gave me the best care that I've ever experienced. As a nurse myself, I seen first hand how a well organized center was run. Top notch care and thanks to such a great crew.
