The Outpatient Center is a fraud. My insurance entitles me to a free colonoscopy. Next thing I know I received two bills from different companies over $600.00. The Billing department has the worse payment plan and won't help with a payment plan if the balance is $61.00 or less. I didn't received the January bill in the mail so I called about it. I got a hold of someone by the name of Ann in the billing department and her level of professionalism was extremely poor. She was completely rude and unprofessional. I tried to make a payment and she did not want to accept the amount I was trying to pay, and send my account to a Debt collection company, "Transworld System Inc (TSI) while I was on the phone with her because I couldn't make a full payment of $46.50. Ann transferred my call to TSI to make the payment. Some of us are doing the best we can. DO NOT USE THIS CENTER FOR ANYTHING. I advise anyone going there to get EVERYTHING in writing. They truly scammed me!
I can not say enough good things about The Outpatient Center. Absolutely professional, clean, friendly, attentive. I could go on but truly, if you have to have a procedure there, know you are in good hands.
If one must go through a procedure, this is definely where you want to go. The staff was amazing, gentle, professional, truly caring. My physician, Dr. Rubin is the best in his field and there were other patients envious that I was seeing him and they were not.
I called three weeks before my colonoscopy to try to schedule the first appointment of the morning. Unfortunately, the receptionist was extremely abrasive and short with me, showing no compassion or concern for my needs. She came across as arrogant and seemed to dislike her job. It was clear she had no understanding of the stress and anxiety that patients experience. In contrast, the staff in the prep area were fantastic. They helped alleviate my stress and anxiety, being friendly and attentive, which made me feel as relaxed as possible. However, the nurse in the procedure room was the exact opposite. She barked directions at me multiple times regarding my feet and my position on the bed, making me feel like a slab of beef. Nurses who behave like that should reconsider their career choices, as they seem to have forgotten why they became nurses in the first place—to help people. Given the nature of the procedure, I would have preferred modesty underwear, as it involves a highly sensitive area. This added another unnecessary layer of anxiety and stress. But you already know this; it seems you are more concerned with getting good reviews than with patient comfort.
I have had the unfortunate experience of being both an inpatient and outpatient at this hospital, and I have consistently found the level of professionalism to be extremely poor. The staff appear to have received little to no customer service training. Simple interactions are often marked by mumbling or unclear communication, which leaves patients feeling uninformed and unsupported. Appointments and procedures rarely run on time, resulting in long and frustrating waits with little explanation or apology. The physical environment only adds to the negative experience—the facility is visibly rundown, unkempt, and poorly maintained. Overall, this hospital fails to meet even the most basic standards of patient care, communication, and respect. Significant improvements in staff training, scheduling, and facility upkeep are urgently needed.
